Anyone going to the Hague Academy of (Public) International Law 2007?

Humber

My eyes are sore after hours of downloading and locating the texts that came available online to day. I had now idea it was that much reading upfront. Well, it's going to be fun also.

Anyone else going?

Hi, I attended the hague academy last year. It was an amazing experinece. You will be spending a lot of time at the Schevnigen beach and Havana Club along with the classes you attend. the reading list is general, you dont have to read all that is given for the class, unless you decide to do the diploma, The whole purpose of the academy is to impart knowledge in International law, bring together students from different parts of the world. Last year we attended at the VCL school in hague, you guys are going to be lucky to be attending the calss at the newly opened building in the Peace Palace. My advice is make best use of the time there by making lot of freinds, getting to know the professor and going to dffirent palaces in the week ends. You must visit Belgium and Luxumberg, which is very nearby from Hague. btw, where are you from?

Hi, that sounds great! I will try to heed your advice about going places in the weekends, but I have some articles to write and other work stuff to do also, so I guess I will need to find a balance. It was kind of a relief that I didn´t have to read all of the texts. Perhaps I should read the info they send me more carefully? I am from Norway.

Hello
packing just now to go to the Hague. Very excited. Does anyone know if any translations in English are available for the readings. If not , do you have a good suggestion for translation program?

Transalations are not available for reading material, however the classes that are conducted in French are transaleted to english and english classes are transaleted to french for french speakers. You will be given a head set where you can switch to which language you want to listen to the class in.

Hello everyone!! I just want some advise. The registration form for the Summer Programme 2008 is now available. I'm not sure about how it is, so could you please tell me if there's an admission process and how does it works. Any other information will be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi, I am interested in Private International Law!

1. Do you know if is easy to get a scholarship?

2. One of the requirements to apply por a scholarship is to tell the "Numbers of hours of lectures followed in international law, results and marks", someone knows what is this? With that they only mean courses at the university or also conferences? What do they mean with results?

3. Someone knows something about the Diploma?? It is necessary to assist to both public and private conferences?

Regards all!

Scholarship, i don't know if it'll be easy to get a scholarship. About the numbers of hours of lectures followed in international law, results and marks.....maybe you should include the courses at the university, conferences, seminar, etc. Do you know if anyone that applies and meet all the requirements join the programme or there's a selection process?

Really I don´t know. In the other thread Humber posted that he thought it was really straightforward!

I will tell them about both courses and conferences if you think so, it sounds reasonable. By the way, do you know what they mean with results? I understand the hours and the marks, but I don´t know what they mean with "results".

Best regards

Thank you Scholarship. I don't know what they mean with results, will that be a problem if you just put the hours and mark?? I sugest you to ask them about the issue, even though someone posted that they didn't repply his emails. I sent an email today. For the moment that's all I know. Good luck and any other information that I'll get I will tell you.
