Hello everyone,
Just like last year, it seemed useful if there was a discussion board for the people that have been accepted for the LLM in Vienna European and International business law for the year 2013-2014.
I received my acceptance last week and so I thought it might be handy if we could exchange information about the LLM here.
Hope you agree!

Hi! I wanna apply for this program as well, so could you tell me if you recommend it?is it worth of money? I have seen that there are a lot of subjects to choose and everyone can find sth interesting. However, I have found out that each subject has 1 point so it means that during all year there are a huge number of subjects to take and pass, am I right? Is it difficult to pass them ? How do the lectures look like?. Does anybody know sth 'bout any sholarship? The tuitition fee is extremely expensive ;/

Hello Philippe.
I think it is useful to start this discussion board. I also got my acceptance letter recently, for the LLM in European and International Business law for the year 2013-14 (starting in October). Besides the information contained in the acceptance letter, the invoice for the tuition fee, and the general information about the program, there is not so much out there, so I think that exchanging information trough this post will be necessary in order to settle in, now that we have been accepted (and maybe also useful to the ones that are still in the process of applying).
I hope that soon more students who got their acceptance letters join this post, meanwhile, nice meeting you. I hope that we stay in touch, and, welcome (and everybody else) to the LLM 13/14.

Hello Andres,
Nice to get some feedback here. I am also hoping many more students will join this post. I think we all have more questions for which answers are not to be found on the site or the letter of acceptance.
I am currently looking for housing facilities in Vienna but it all seems somewhat vague on the internet. I think the courses will be thaught at Schottenbastei 10-16 but I am not sure. I have send an email to get some more information about that. Have you already found something or still looking?
Hope we stay in touch!
Greetings,
Philippe

Hello Philippe.
Indeed, I think there are more questions than answers to this point, and hopefully we will be getting them in time.
After the acceptance I thought that the most important step was housing. So I am also searching for apartments at this moment. I also think that the courses will be taught at Schottenbastei 10-16, in the Juridicum building. What I am doing right now is using google maps to type in the addresses and the address of our Uni, to have and idea about the location versus the location of the apartments I have been looking at. Afterwards I try to see the public transportation for the routes, or look at the walking distances...anyways it takes some time! If I come across some real- estate website that I find useful I will let you know, because indeed the information tends to be a little vague sometimes.
I also hope that we stay in touch, and trough the days, more questions are going to come up, so I guess that we will be contacting each other (and hopefully more people joining the forum) more often. This week I will start looking more serious to the housing issue, if anything I will let you know!
Greetings!!
Andres

Hello Emil,
I am also trying to find housing from a distance. You can find various housing sites on the net but I find it to be difficult to determine the quality. If I should a good site or a good housing facility, I will let you know.
Regarding the visa, I'm from Belgium so I can't help you with that. Sorry.
Good luck!

Hello Emil. Nice to hear more people joining the forum.
I have also found many sites on the internet, but as Philippe says, it is difficult to determine the quality and location "pros and contras". I will also let you know if I find a reliable source/webpage regarding housing.
Regarding the visa, although I am from, and live in El Salvador, I am also German, so I wouldn't know much about that either.
Nevertheless, any question that comes up will give us all more information about everything we have to do related to Vienna, so I hope we all stay in touch.

Hello future classmates!
I am Cecilia and I will also be joining the program in October. Also searching for housing close to campus. I have e-mailed some real state agents that I found online and hope to hear back from them soon.
I am nervous and excited about this opportunity. I look forward to meeting all of you and all others who will join us in this experience.
Sincerely,
Cecilia

Thanks, everyone. I would also like to ask everyone, anyone who knows webportals where people search for roommates please post them here

Helo Cecilia.
It is always nice to hear more people joining the forum. Little by little the group is growing, what will be helpful for us and all the questions we have. I am also very excited about this experience, and looking forward for the time to move to Vienna and meeting you all (which I guess will be around mid september?). I am, at this moment, wondering what would be the adequate time to depart to Vienna. I guess it will also be dictated depending on wether I have already an apartment or not...Anyway if you find a reliable source for real-estate info, please share it with us, since I guess it is now the main concern for all of us. Any questions, I guess we all will be posting them here...

Hello guys,
I'm Max, I'm lawyer from argentina and I might be joining you next october for the pure-english program.
Two questions I have to you all:
1) Does anybody know something about the schedule? How many days/hours per week are filled with lectures?
2) Help me out also with this one: due to the amount of credits each subjects provides, I have this feeling that subjects might be a little superficial and therefore the overall result might not be as useful when facing job market requirements. Do you think about this master as a pre-phd self-sufficient master or as a master that will require more profound studies in order to achieve job insertion?
I wonder because in order to take the master I will have to abandon my Law firm and invest every penny I have... so you could say that stakes are pretty high...
I look forward to have you all as classmates.
Best Regards,
Max.

Hello everyone,
In case there are others, I was wondering where the classes will be held in light of finding housing accomodations.
I emailed Maria Sturm. She ensured me that all the courses will be held at Schottenbastei 10-16.

_blue,
From what I have heard and read, the program should looks good to me. If you go to the program website, you will take overview of the faculty members. Some of the teachers are from Stanford Law school, some are respected legal professionals from Austria.
