QMUL PIL 2014-2015

Hi guys,

I just received unconditional offer from QMUL on its LLM on Public International Law. I must say I'm surprised by how fast they processed my application papers, just under a week!!

I have a few questions though, maybe you can help me. I applied for the Public International Law program and I just don't Know how good it is. I know Malgosia Fitzmaurice is teaching, but from what I read at QMUL they are more specialized in commercial law, intellectual property and arbritarion. I am more into Intl Human Rights, Humanitarian, International Criminal Law, and basic old fashioned PIL. Is Queen Mary good for me?

I'm waiting to hear back from Essex in International Human Rights Law, and I'm still waiting for my referees in LSE.

Is LSE very difficult to get in? If I got into QMUL with an unconditional offer how good are my chances at LSE? Is QMUL a good PIL program? I'm waiting for your feedback.

hi, indeed they do process applications amazingly fast, I got a reply two days after I submitted mine, conditional offer though as I have not finished my degree. Similarly to you I am waiting for my second referee to submit my reference (I am waiting for him to do so for the past 3 weeks) to LSE.
What was your degree average?

I really don't know what's my average in accordance to UK standards. I graduated in Panama from the University of Panama with a total GPA of 2.63, the maximum possible is 3.0. I don't understand tha 2:1 or 2:2 first and second class system. I find it difficult and I dont know which is the one that corresponds to my grades here in Panama.

Just hoping the best for LSE. What happens if I accept the QMUL's offer and then decide not to attend? Do you have to pay something as soon as you accept?
