Hej,
I've also been admitted, I'm Portuguese. I'm still pondering wether to go to Col.Europe or to the MIPLC. I'm afraid of the costs of living in Munich.

That is a concern for most of us i feel. But i think the time at MIPLC will be equally valuable. How do u feel?

its better to compare the credentials of the institutes. if both are on equal footing then go for the city with low cost of living. but in munich, i feel u may get more exposure professionally.

Hello everyone,
Had just come across this post. I have recently been admitted to the LLM program at the MIPLC. Presently, I am trying to decide whether to go for it or not seeing as without a scholarship the entire expense is quite high. So before going ahead by taking a risk with paying the deposit, I am trying to see if the program is worth it for the entire price. Any thoughts would be welcome.
Thanks.

as far as I have noticed MIPLC seems to have the best IP LLM and the most expensive one in Europe.
due to its high tuition fee, haven`t you thought of trying other IP programs? what do you think of the other programs compared to MIPLC? what about career opportunities once graduated from MIPLC?
do you know anything special with regard to these questions?

@Arberwb That is the general feedback I have also received, that the LLM at the MIPLC is the best in terms of brand value, networking, professors, course modules etc. The question on jobs is trickier. While the MIPLC offers a great stepping stone to market yourself to various law firms or MNCs, nobody can actually guarantee that you will be able to land the kind of openings you are looking for. I have heard of various people being placed in highly reputed law firms/MNCs and/or patent offices in their own countries. At the same time I have also heard of people not being able to market themselves properly and eventually joining "any" job that comes their way. Thus, feedback on the job scenario has been getting all the more confusing as one talks to more people. At some point it requires a leap of faith.

As for other programs, I suppose there are. But most of them require a basic law degree, which I do not have. A program which seemed interesting was the one at Maastricht University, which also offers an LLM program in IP. But then again the MIPLC seems to be much better. My situation is such that I probably wont be able to join this year without a scholarship and/or waiver. Question is however if I should or should not pay the deposit to secure a spot, while waiting for the decision on scholarship/waiver. Either way seems to be a risk and therein lies my dilemma.

Hello,
I am Gayatree from India. I applied in MIPLC and also for DAAD scholarship for 2012-13.
As a first step of scholarship proceedings, I got admission letter from MIPLC in October 2011. I was short listed for interview for scholarship but I could not get scholarship.
I still uphold my application and requested for considering my application for tution waver.
when I got admission letter from MIPLC, they have not mentioned about registration fee/deposit (2000 EURO)in the admit. Then I read in FAQ that to secure the application one has to pay that fee.
So my question is do my admission later is final one? or will they send me formal letter again?
Has any one from you paid the 2000Euro fee?

@Gayatree I think the deposit applies to everyone irrespective of the type of scholarship he/she is pursuing. I suggest you contact the MIPLC office about this and do it as soon as possible. They should clear up any doubts.

I think the deposit fee is required in order to secure one's place but if you had a tuition waiver probably they would not be asking for it.

yes thats right.
but still tuition waver results are not out.. it will be communicated in june.
So there is risk in just waiting for tuition waver and not payong deposit if one wants go to MIPLC irrespective of decision of tution waver
