Hi everyone. I've just got an offer from Kent Uni in Brussels to do the LLM in Intl Law with Int Rel.
Just wondering if i could get in touch with anyone out there who has obtained an offer from Brussels as well.
Thanx.

Hi Primus. Why did you apply for Brussels instead of England? I would like to know because i intend to apply but i'm not sure for which one, and any help or suggestions will be very useful. thanks in advance.

Hi grisselle,
I was attracted to the fact that Brussels has the most number of international organisations and it is at the heart of europe. So, I assume the chances of networking and getting a job in a related field would be relatively higher compared to canterbury.

Thank you for your reply Primus!!! In my case, I don't know french, I know that the courses are in english, but I'm thinking in the fact that I will want to get a job after studies. Would that be a problem or do you think that I may have a chance in Brussels?

I dont think that would be a big problem but knowing french will definitely be an added advantage. I don't know french as well but I intend to pick it up.. Plus BSIS hv French classes for the students.
Personally, I think that knowing French would definitely be an added advantage if u want to work in the intl arena.

Hi everyone. I'm also going to apply for Int Law with Int relations, and very happy to hear about your opinion. Do you know something about teaching method in BSIS, and part-time for international students? I'm also wondering if they have any preparetion course there?
Thanks a lot.
Thanks a lot.

i studied LLM here and think great programme & faculty- friendly atmosphere with great flexibility of courses you can choose and could therefore could focus on particular areas of interest. overall wonderful time in Brussels and made friends for life from the year. i also got part-time internship which was great experience for resume after being in school for so long and after graduating got the job i have now on basis of LLM/ what i chose as dissertation topic and this work experience. also think employers like to see international experience/schooling which shows broad mind & outlook but also that you didnt chosoe safe local option. i would recommend this school highly!

Hey, all!
I am also applying to Kent but am unsure which LLM program to choose - there are so many! I do not have a law degree, so I was thinking about the LLM in Law with Intl Relations although I am more interested in EU law and Economic Law. Do you think I stand the chance of being accepted to the latter programs given that my BA is in Political Science?
On a separate note, the online application provides a space entitled "Reasons for study". Do you know if a full-fledged letter of motivation is expected in addition to the "reasons for study" or if I should paste a letter of recommendation in that space?
Many thanks in advance!

I recently got my phase 1 acceptance letter back from BSIS. Just waiting on phase 2 acceptance. I also got accepted to Tilburg and Rotterdam, and am having trouble deciding between the 3.

Hey,
I actually ended up going to Tilburg :) It is a good school and I like the town, but if you're into bigger cities better go to Rotterdam or Brussels. Many people here complain that it's so small and ugly, but I actually find it quite okay for living while you're studying :)
As for programs, I really don't know the other programs that well. Tilburg is fine but it depends which program you are looking at. I am in the LLM Intl and European Public Law and I think it's a good program. But as with most European Universities, I think your education is what you make of it :) Don't expect them to spoon feed you - everything takes some effort on your part - your research, getting books from the library, signing up for exams, etc.
Otherwise the campus is nice and compact and the faculty is supportive and responsive to student suggestions. Not to mention, the International Office people, esp. Tessa Barten, are great! Super helpful and nice, and get things done immediately! A big plus, if you ask me.
Good luck deciding!
