Hi All,
Does anyone know how many students are typically in the Advanced LL.M. in Public International Law at Leiden?
Also, if anyone could provide a sense of how Leiden is viewed in the US, that would be very helpful to know.
Thanks!

I have the same question in mind too. I guess there would be a class of 25-30 students roughly, but unsure about the exact number. Which specialization have you been admitted to?

Can anyone give me an idea of the merits and demerits of the advanced PIL master versus the regular one? I have been admitted to the advanced but am questioning whether I want to pay the money when cheaper options are available

Hi guys!I am looking for an answer to that too. I have been accepted to both programmes but the Advanced is unaffordable without a scholarship, at least for me.
A couple of days ago a girl who is doing her PhD in Leiden told me that there is a BIG difference between the regular and the advanced programme and that students that have attended the regular programme have trouble in finding a job etc.
I don't know what to do, I don't know if it's worth spending money for a year for a programme that won't really help me aftrewards.
Is there anybody who has attended any of the programmes and can enlighten us?PLEASE!
Good luck to everybody!

Hi Sofiaint,
I spoke to a doctor of PIL in my college and he told me the regular is a much better option considering the price differential (if you're eligible for it!)
Of course the term master (adv) isn't very widespread and few if any jobs would request such. If you go for the reg LLM and get a 1.1 and internship, how could your prospects be limited??
I know people that have done the reg and got the internship in the Hague, a government post and then got PhD funding afterwards so their prospects were certainly furthered

Hi jubjub!
That's very good to know!Because really the difference between the regular and the advanced programme as far as the cost is concerned is huge!
These people you are telling me about, who did the regular programme, what did they think of the programme? They have done it recently?
Thank you very much for your answer.
Sofia
