I received an acceptance email from ILF about two weeks back. Still considering whether to accept or decline. Anyone else in the same boat?

Thanks. I sent my application on 22nd December but it reached sometime around 2nd or 3rd January due to the Christmas break. I got the offer in the last week of January.

ohh cool and congratulations once again...so they generally let you know about your result within a month's time??? hey am i really late on applying in the month of feb? my application reached on 10th feb

I'm not too sure on whether you are late or not since they are still accepting the LLM applications. I will most probably decline the offer since I'm getting other offers. Though the course is exactly what I want, the current economic situation of Europe may not offer me any work opportunity, forcing me to come back to my home country.

Hey guys
I was admitted to ILF LLM Program last Wednesday and would like to connect to my future classmates. Any other on board?

I'm about to handle my docs in.. Have you heard anything about the work opportunities afterwards? Thx!
Posted May 07, 2012 19:00
I'm not really sure about the work opportunities afterwards, especially considering the European economies as they are right now. But nevertheless, I think if you want to gain the knowledge of finance, and at the same time link it with your legal acumen, ILF offers one of the best courses.
Though I'm personally not joining ILF, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who asks!

Hey there noidrequired,
May I ask - having received an offer from ILF (many congratulations) - does one have to proffer the instiute a deposit within a certain period of time?
Also was there conditions attached? E.g. the attainment of a 1st/2.1.
Thanks for any help.

In the offer letter, there should be a schedule for your payment (say 1 October is due for 40% and dated X for 10% deposit). My deposit was set to be paid within a month from the offer letter date. Should ask the admission lady (who is very helpful) on every matter in relation to payment schedule and conditions.

Thank you very much for this. My comment was only speculative - as I have yet to hear anything on my application.
So, therefore, if the offer letter was sent on the 10th of May a deposit would be due on the 10th of June? May I ask - how much is the deposit?
Also - was there any conditions (on academics) stipulated in the letter?
Thank you very much indeed for your help.

The deposit is always set at 10% of the tuition fee (ie Euro 1,800) for normal applicants, though I think that there should be adjustment for financially aided applicants.
I saw cases where ILF issued conditional offer letter but for me, it was unconditional.

Hey everyone
Congrats for being accepted. I have almost completed the application. Did you have to send notarised (by lawyer) copies of your transcripts and certificates? Or they accept certified copies?

I think the idea is that they would like to be certain with the authenticity of the documents so it should be fine for a certified document. If they would cast any doubts to the true quality of the documents, they could probably require you to go through an APS process with the German Embassy, which I guess only Chinese applicants are required.
However, I think you'd better check with the admission person before sending in documents.

Ok thanks for the advice haule. has anyone who got in but submitted certified instead of notarised copies. completing this application has been taking longer than i expected (collecting references letters etc) so I want to apply asap and notarising the documents would prolong the process and costly (its about 50 euro to get the documents notarised in my country)

Thank you kindly for your help haule!
I just received an offer for the ILF LL.M. Very happy indeed.
Plus I have the fortune of gaining a scholarship.
Decisions have to be made though... Cambridge LL.M. / Oxford B.C.L. or I.L.F....
Difficult month to decide...

SunMar, congratuations on the offer! I too went through this decision making exercise about two months ago between Cambridge/NYU(and NYU@NUS)/ILF. Finally I chose Cambridge! Good luck to you.
As for the notarized/certified documents for ILF, I remember I did not get any documents certified or notarized. In fact, I missed out on sending my High School transcript along with the application, so I a scanned copy of that later by email. Dont think it should be an issue.
