Geneva Academy Applications 2020-2021

Did anyone receive any response from the University so far?

No, I'll think we'll have to wait at least until March.

Looking at the previous years threads I guess non-scholarship track starts receiving responses from the end of January.

I haven't but I think that applicants (without scholarship) could start receiving offers even next week according to previous years.

Hello Everyone,
Please I have been trying to upload my documents for the full scholarship at Geneva academy but it keeps saying File has an incorrect mimetype of inode/x-empty.
Please can someone kindly tell me what’s wrong as the deadline is in two days.
Thank you.

I am sorry, I have no idea. But I think the system is now busy being that everyone is laboring to beat the deadline. Keep trying.

I'm not quite sure but, are all your documents in PDF format? Maybe that's the error?

Hello, guys

I am pretty anxious (and scared, to be honest)... I'm trying to submit my application, but when I press "submit" the page keeps loading and loading forever. Anyone experiencing the same problem?

UPDATE: after half an hour, it finally sent.

What are you people writing in the "motivation" and "future goals" section? Just copy-pasting from the POS or summarizing it? Or writing something completely different? How many words?

I applied in November, don´t remember exactly but wasn´t a copy-paste. I think it needs to be coherant with what you wrote on your POS but it can and should be a bit more straight to the point. There is no value in copy and pasting it because you will be wasting the opportunity of letting them know more about you.

Hi, I will try to answer according to what I read in the web page. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong.
I know for sure that scholarship/non scholarship tracks are evaluated separately, hence the difference in deadlines. I am not sure about the partial scholarship track. This means that, if you apply to the scholarship and you don't get it, they won't offer you admission without scholarship. In that same sense, if you apply without scholarship and you are the best profile of all applicants, they won't admit you with an scholarship - because you did not apply for one.

Do you believe that one could apply to multiple tracks?

No, you cannot. I as tried to illustrate in one of my previous comments, I guess the Academy tries to promote that only people who really need the scholarship apply for it. If you are excellent, but you can still afford it, then I think applying without scholarship is the best for everyone. I think it is fair.

You´re welcome! As I said before, I´m really checking the forum every now and then expecting for the first person to say they received an offer. I was to know if they will start sending letters now as they did in previous years or we will really have to wait until March

I remember trying to use it as an opportunity for deepening what I had written in my PO, so it was related but also with new elements. I think I did 300 words. It took me a full week lol

Another quick question: How do you all interpret the "closes 31 January"? One of my referees still has not sent me his recommendation letter, so I am hoping it is open tomorrow as well.

I'd say until 11:59 pm but on Geneva time, so be careful there!
