CoE 2012/2013

hey!
yeahh, I've read all of those ...but still I'd like to know, some more meticulous things, like, starting with picking up the phone, and, what were the first words, or,
just because I am so worried..even though I know perfectly well, that it's quite natural.. :)
thank you!
Hi Gaby! In my opinion, you don't have to be so meticulous. I wasn't interviewed by phone so I can't answer your question. However, let me give you an advice: keep calm and don't worry about things like "what were the first words". It will be a natural conversation. You only have to show them you are a good applicant, that's all ;)

Any news from the Spanish Committee?
Not yet... Do you think the Spanish Committee will only send an email to those who have been selected?

I called yesterday to the AECID and they told me that they had no news yet, and that they had no idea when would the results go out, maybe next week
Thank you very much for sharing this information! I will have to learn how to be patient... Good luck to all of you!

I think they will contact everyone who has done the interview... anyway I will keep you updated if any news come out! Courage!
A friend of mine, who is currently in Brugge, has told me he had his interview on 26 April 2011 and he was contacted by the Spanish Committee on 19 May 2011. I imagine we will have news very soon!

hey ruxi!
yeahh...
:) I had my interview on Wednesday :) I thought it would be better to post here when I'd also had the result :)
I can't say how was it for me, good or bad, just never had interview like this before..
at least, I hope they won't appreciate me only by that interview, for the case I was not brilliant :)
what was really unexpected, is that they started in French :) and of course I tried my best to answer all the question and control all the emotions :)
- there were no questions on my motivation and so on...
how was yours?

Hi everyone,
I had the interview on wed 30 May( ENP countries), they asked me motivation question "why to choose COE" ? and what do i know about European institutions and the Action service "which i didnt know what is the Action service" and they asked about Greece's Crise and Euro crises . About the french quest i was asking about the role of EU parliament and why i choosed Europe politics and Admin dep and what are its subjects....to tell you the truth it was very stressful coz it was my first time to do such an interview over Skype with webcame (",) it took about 15 minutes and i after this interview i realised that questions werent so much difficult and i guess they stress more on your ability of thinking and expressing in both english and french..i'm happy to find a forum for preselected candidats..Good luck to all of us and i hope to be one of your collegues ....

Hi everyone! So regarding my experience. First there were 3 persons. They started in English and they asked a lot about my motivation, then why EEIB is my first choice (here i said that i want to focus more on integration process but they kept asking why). Then they asked very detailed questions about startegic management. What have i covered at this subject, SWOT analysis, diference between internal and external growth of enterprises. They asked some questions regading the topics of some seminars i participated last years, then they switched very fast to French. Questions in French: - do i think my level in french is good enough, types of markets (microeconomics), what is monopilistic market and its diferences with perfect competition. Back to English - European institutions; which one is eligible to propose laws and which one is responsible for accepting or rejecting them.
Well that was all generally, maybe some minor questions between. It took 20 min and they said result will come out in 4 weeks.

Hi everygone!

I am a Spanish History graduate who has been pre-selected for the EIS and one of the 10 Geremek Bronislaw Scolarships for historians.

I know this forum is mainly for Law/Economics students but I don´t know where else can I find and provide information.

Since I think the Geremek Scolarship is new I guess that nobody has had an interview with history as the main topic (the scolarship "forces" you to write your disssertation about a history or cultural aspect of Europe). Therefore, my question is if you think that depending on the masters you want to do (and in my case, the scolarship) the main questions are different. For example, I have little idea of macroeconomics of the EU but I know quite well the integration process....

Thanks and good luck to all of you :)

Hey,

My interview was back in April and found out about three weeks later that I had been accepted! My first choice was POL with EIS as the second, but during they interview they suggested I was more suited to EIS, as I am a European history graduate and then offered me a place on the EIS course, which I am really happy to be starting, provided I can improve my French a lot :/

How was your interview Nathalie?

I'll be honest, mine wasn't the best. I was so nervous that my mind kept freezing on really easy questions e.g. a discussion on the EU institutions and couldn't get a handle on my French. So for those who still have to be interviewed, the truly best advice I can provide is stay as calm as possible and be really positive, it is the only way to put the true you across.

Fortunately, they saw something in me to offer a place so don't write it off even if it was a harrowing experience, really hard to tell!

I got a few questions in French, but mostly in English thankfully. I think they realised my French wasn't too great.

Just keep your cool and you'll be fine! Hope to see you both in Natolin! Really looking forward to it :)

I think my interview could be better. They asked me one question in french, and then if I need language courses also in french. I see that lots of students have common problem with french-so do I)

Hello everybody.
Ruxy , I have also applied EEIB and I had my interview on june 1st. Mine was above avarege I think as I couldn't answer anything in french..Some basic questions about Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and Corporate governance. Some questions on EU which was the same "which one is eligible to propose laws etc.." Not so much diffcult I could say..
Do you know if they have any criteria on the number of candidates from each country?
