Hi Mr Lawyer,
I have been admitted to the MAS in International Taxation. I have to present some additional transcripts in order to confirm my admission.
What about you??

I am admitted to the MAS in Public International Law, but haven't received the formal letter yet. I got this information at the website.
Hope to see you there this fall.

Hi everyone!!!! Congratulations to all the future students. I just want to ask how long does it take to receive a decision from Leiden? I have been waiting 7 weeks since they told me that the'll forward my application to the faculty, and I have understood that this take six weeks. Thanks in advanced.
Kind regards.
Kind regards.

Hi!
I know it's off topic a little, but I was wondering if you would know, since no one seems to know exactly...what is the difference between a LL.M. and a MAS??
Thank you sooo much for writing back, it's greatly appreciated!!

I got admitted to the LLM in European Law (Sept 08) but I decided to choose Utrecht over it, and I am quite sure I won't regret it!
They say they take 6 weeks max to give u an answer regarding ur acceptance, but in fact they took 11 or so... So it's kinda too late for a person like me who already paid for a deposit in another University!
I wish you all good luck, and that you also have a great time in Leiden! :)

I was rejected, because my past studies (political science) weren't enough. I'm going to Utrecht anyway.

Hi guys,
I have recently applied for Advanced PIL studies, but was late for Huyegens scholarship. Need some advices, are there any possibilities for LUF of Leiden excelence scholarships? Is there anyone who went there with scholarship at all ?
And I'm also interested in average age on Advanced PIL studies, I'm 21 one and am afraid they'll perceive me non-mature for programm :S

Hi Tamar,
I was admitted into the Adv PIL in ICL in november (i have accepted the offer), and am also in the process of being reviewed for huygens. why are you too late for it? does it cut off already? I am 23, and am from New Zealand. whereabouts do you hail from?
Regards
Ken

HI Ken,
Thanks for reply, I was late because I was not aware Leiden had internal deadline for HSP scholarships:( It appeared that the last date to submit application for Huygens review was December 1 and I submitted my application by December 19..
Hopefully they will be in time to consider the application.. What is your score in IELTS? I yesterday got the scores and it was 7.5 but I have 6.5 in writing and reading, hope it won't be taken as drawback..
I am from Georgia (republic of)

hmm. the internal deadline things definitely a bit average. hopefully theyll still keep your application in mind. I don't need to do an english test because my bachelor's degree was taken in NZ, and is all in English. are you applying for the MAS in international crim or peace and development? either way, it should be good. I'm excited.
Have a great holiday, peace.
Ken

I haven't applied to Leiden yet because my uni haven't issued my diploma yet.
But I am afraid of my chances of being admitted since I'll be applying late (planning to apply in late Feb). Does anyone know if Leiden does rolling-admission?
Also, how hard is it to be admitted? Do I have to have some work experience for the Leiden to favor me over other candidates? (I am a recent graduate from PSCI and Law in Canada-> hence no work experience)
Thanks!

Neither do I have Diploma yet but I still applied. The main thing is to have the transcripts from your law faculty as far as I know and at least an official note where it is indicated that you have already graduated. I for example had note on transcript that I have been granted BA degree from my University and that I have graduated.
I advice you to send your application as soon as possible, why should you wait for Diploma if your faculty can give you the transcript? I have applied to 6 Universities in Public International law without Diploma :)
Or you can contact leiden admissions office, they have online inquiry forms on web-page or give them a call and ask them whether u can apply without Diploma.
As for the work experience - it depends which program are u applying to: if you want to study on Regular LLM you don't need any work experience in field. But for Advanced LLM in Public International Law there is requirement to have some publications + work experience.
Good Luck!! :))
