Admission to sweden-lund.

Rachie

Hi guys,
I went through the posts and learned some good info. which I've experienced without knowing. I wish I saw this board much earlier.
I applied to Int'l Marketing & Brand Management at Lund. After 1st selection round, I am on a waiting list as Reserve 1. I hope someone will drop off and a place will open for me. By that time, I have got nothing to do but wait for the results of 2nd round on May29 :( i hate uncertainty.

By that time, do you think I should check about residence permit, housing stuff for any case??

Any advise or lovely welcome will be appreciated :)

Keep your hopes!
I am quite sure it will happen. Look at my case: I applied for 4 universities and so far got the results of 3 of them. So yeah I gave on 2 of them because one of those was my top choice. I sent an e-mail to the university regarding my application withdrawl. And I guess most of the people do that, they apply to several universities or programmes just in case they don't get accepted in their favorite. So mostly, someone will be on that situation!

Although I didn't choose this country to pursue my studies I wish you the very best!

And don't forget to be positive :D!

Hey Rachie!

Thanks for your positive words and congrats on your admission. Yeah I keep my hopes and you are right about that many people withdrawl their admissions for their own reasons. I know there are people who applied to many universities in different countries, sometimes they choose Germany over Sweden for example.

There is another which I applied at Halmstad, it is my less priority but I am reserve 1 at that one, too. So maybe not Lund, but Halmstad it will be. Ohh I soo want to study abroad this year and I will {see! I am positive :) }

Hello, Supersoniq!

I guess you (and everyone who is on the waiting list) have all the reasons for being optimistic! I believe that after the SI Scholarships results, there are some people who is going to give up. Sweden is an expensive country, and one has to prove he/she has much money to apply for students residence permit.
Keep your fingers crossed, your eyes open and your mind free of fear!
;)

Thank you aaalelele! Yesterday, I received an e-mail from my director which is sent to all applicants who are on the waiting list. Indeed, It is so dissappointing, but I am hopeful for any slightest chance or I start thinking maybe sweden is not the best option for me, I should check other oppurtunities. Anyway, important parts from the e-mail follows as:

Note that if you are marked as 'Reserve' (under 'Selection Result'), you are not accepted (admitted) to a programme. Even if you should have a very low 'reserve number', it is highly unlikely you will be admitted (we usually do not admit applicants from the waiting list). At this point, you hence need to consider other options (including other programmes, if applicable).

Anyone, is the above true?? Even if your reserve is no. 1 or 8? Someone please enlightened me, if anyone know any information on the above. The second round of selection results will be posted soon on 29th May... if this is the case, why bother waiting for the results rite??!!!

Hi All,
Me again...have you noticed that the number of people admitted for HR and Maritime has increased (since Friday) on Sudera Nu? Does Lund really only admit 25 international students for EU bus law?

I think there is one reason for the figure increasing, that is somebody admitted in the first selection round has quit and gave up the admission. Surely, Lund does only admit 25 applicants in each programme~~~

BTW, I applied for Eu bus law as my first option and the maritime law as the second~~

I'm wondering how good are the Eu bus law programme and the maritime law programme in lund ?? what is the graduates job prospective?????Is there any edge of being a lund graduate in the job market????

Just now I checked my account in the studera.com and found that the number of maritime law programme under acc in the selection group increased to 28~~~~~~~

Does it mean there are 3 students gave up their admissions in the firts selection round and I will get an admission on 29th this month? for I am the 3rd in the reserve list~~~25+3=28~~~~

I cross my fingers and pray for that~~~~~feel like playing lucky draw~~~~

Hi All,
Just a friendly request: please don't accept a place at the university if you know full well that you don't want it or you have decided on other options (those accepted already of course). I just phoned the student desk to ask how many international students they accept in each course and it would seem that no one but the University itself knows...does anyone know by any chance. The anxiety is literally killing me...haai! Why oh why don't they accept more students...?

Hi guys,
I have been so busy at work for long time and couldn't even find time to log in.

I see that I caused some tension on the topic and I am sorry for that. I received that e-mail from the program director of International Marketing&Brand Management at Business School at Lund.
I am reserve 1 and the # of people admitted in my selection group have increased as well from 56 to 59. I do neither understand what does it mean?
I've just checked my account and it is updated as "Preparation for selection/selection running" as it happened just before the announcement of 1st round's results. I suppose yours also have updated so.

Anyway, I wish everyone here on the waiting list good luck!

and hope to share good news on May 29

Keeping my fingers crossed :-)
