Has anyone received an acknowledgment after depositing 500CHF?????
Posted Apr 10, 2012 15:40
As for me, i haven,t. i was pre-selected for scholarship award and am still waiting for final approval. Can i have an idea of the deposit of CHF 500????
Posted Apr 10, 2012 15:58
Nnatiti, the 500 CHF is only payable after one has been granted admission. No scholarship applicant has been granted admission yet. So I don't think it applies.
And the reason I have not replied to your messages is because you have blocked me. Not sure you are aware of it. So stop sending messages coz I cant respond to them. :)
Cheers!

Hi all,
In addition to the sites listed by ADH to help prospective students find accomodation, a local resident also recommended the following:
www.glocals.com

hi all,
haven't received any knews from the deposite either, did you get any further informations ?
For the accomodation, 2 of the 4 student centers are already full, only the centre st-boniface and the centre universitaire protestant 1 will maybe have room for students, but they don't give any news before june...
And for those who are willing to share an appartment (after having found one...), i would be happy to do a collocation with them !!

received a useful information letter !
what about you ?
what about you ?
Posted Apr 25, 2012 14:02
Hi T, i haven,t received any letter from the school. Can i ask what your letter says? Please waiting.
Posted Apr 25, 2012 14:22
not a letter actually, just a pdf with some "usefull informations", mainly the fact that that it is hard to find accomodation in Geneva (with some websites given), the fact that we'll need health insurance, we also need to take care about visas (for those who need one) and they ask us if we don't mind if they give us each other's e-mail.
Posted Apr 25, 2012 14:45
That's fine T. I advice, that we keep the contacts and wait for our admissions letter from the school and their own perspective regarding: health insurance, visas and accommodation. We will also need to contact the current student association for some useful directives. Were you pre-selected for scholarship?
Posted Apr 25, 2012 15:21
Actually, I didn't wanted my admission to be determined by my financial situation so i didn't apply for scholarship so i already got my admission letter.
I need to check but I think I won't need a visa because I have EU citizenship but we anyway have to registrate and stuffs like that...
For accomodation, by now, all the shared apartments I found are too expensive for me, or far too far away from geneva, and I maybe found something but with only one room..
Anyway, we keep in touch !

Hi T, its good to hear you already have your admission letter. I am still waiting cos i applied for a scholarship especially as i am coming from a developing country and will need a visa to travel to Geneva. I thought shared apartments are less expensive. Can i have an idea of their cost and also the cost of the room you found for yourself?
Posted Apr 25, 2012 16:27
thanks nnatiti !
Hope you'll get your scholarship ! And which country are you from ?
They are indeed less expensive but still cost a lot: if you want to be in Geneva it seems that the usual price for a shared apartment is between 800 CHF and 1200 CHF, if you are willing to not live in Geneva, the prices decrease with the distance but I saw nothing under 700 CHF.
I found a 10m² room for 750 CHF in the center of Geneva, so i think i'll take it ! (I already live far from my university so i'll enjoy to leave near the school in Geneva..)
Tell me if I can help you in whatever manner !
(also any other future classmates on that forum of course)

Hello T. I hope to get the scholarship cos that is the only way i can participate in the programme. I am a Cameroonian but presently in the Gambia. As soon as i get my scholarship confirmation and admissions, i will let you know so that we do some concrete arrangements regarding accommodation, insurance etc. As for visa, i will need to apply at the nearest Swiss embassy, which is in Dakar, Senegal. I was thinking that, shared accommodation are less expensive. what national are you also?
