UoT - Plan of Study?

atalok

Hi everyone,
I am a swiss attorney and I sent some applications around Europe / UK (and waiting for the results), but after having spent 6 months in Canada i'd also like to apply for UoT (LLM with a Concentration in Business Law).

However, they ask for a "Plan of Study", further described as "one page indicating your area of interest and proposed course of study".

But, what does it mean exactly? Shall I list all the courses I want to follow explaining why? It doesn't make really sense. Because in my personal statement I already explain why I want to pursue a postgrad study and why in the area of business law.

Someone can give me some explanations?

Thx and take care!!

Hi Atalok,

In the coursework plan of study, you are expected to highlight the exact topic/theme you want to research on, within the sphere of business law. (For example, Corporate Social responsibility, Law of international business and finance transactions etc. You can view the courses they offer in the business law stream on their website)
You need to justify your reason of choosing that particular topic, how your topic is relevant and who or what exactly is it aimed to benefit.

Thx for your reply dear chhibb! However, i don't see the difference btw this and the personal statement.

Anyway, I just got an offer from QMUL, then problem solved ;) I will continue to come to Canada just for tourism :)

Have a good day

Hello Chhibb,
Firstly your advice was very helpful. I would be thankful if you can address this issue an clarify it.
A particular topic selected from the particular course will fulfill the requirements of Coursework plan of  study program. So if I can conclude it's like an abstract to your topic of Research.
Please do the needful.

Kind regards,
