Checking in here! My application still says 'Under Review.'

What is the current status of everyone else who has applied to the UofT LLM?

Hi, yes I have.
It doesn’t mean anything. It’s not an offer of admission.

Congratulations! You heard back extremely quickly! Did you do your LL.B/JD in Canada or are you foreign trained? Did you apply for a concentration/thesis/non-thesis?

I applied on Jan. 13 (quite late in the rolling admissions cycle), and have yet to hear anything... I'm seriously hoping they didn't fill all their spots already lol

Yesterday I received an email from the University where they let me know that they will send me an offer of admission as soon as they receive my official TOEFL scores (I am a South American applicant, and for the application process I only filed a copy of the test's results).

Does anyone know how much time does it take to ETS to send the official results to a Canadian University?

Thanks!

Congrats! Can I ask when you applied?

I haven't done the TOEFL (but have done other tests with ETS and had them send scores), and on their website it says (about the TOEFL):

"For online orders, scores are mailed 3–5 business days after your request is received. For mail or fax orders, scores are mailed 10 business days after your request is received. Allow 7–10 days after the mailing date for delivery in the United States, and 4–6 weeks for locations outside the United States. For information specific to your location, contact your post office."

My experience was that it was quicker than 4-6 weeks, as Canada has a pretty good mail service and it's relatively close to the US.

Hi!

Does anyone know if it usual (or possible) for foreign-trained lawyers to practice law in Canada after the LLM program? Like in the USA's international desks / foreign associate figure?

Thanks!

It is worrying. I don't sense any urgency on part of the committee. Last week I had written to them asking for a tentative date and I got the standard response of 'few weeks'. This week again I got a standard response citing few weeks, because I guess most people are enquiring about their admission decisions. It is troubling since most deadlines for accepting other offers from other law schools is April first week.
