Hi Friends,
I am thinking of applying to a Canadian Law school for LLB degree.
Could someone please guide me about..
What are the job prospects in a law firm after doing LLB from Canada?
Thanks a lot.

Well generally speaking, I think the job prospects are very good. Unlike the USA, there are a limited number of law schools in Canada and a limited number of spots at each school. So every year a fixed number of people graduate with LLB's. Similarly, I think all of the Canadian law schools are excellent. Some people will tell you U of T is the best or McGill or UBC, etc... but if you look at the firms and who they hire, there is a good mix. The top students at Queens or UNB or UVIC have just as good of a chance at getting hired by the top firms. Again, unlike the USA, you don't have a HUGE difference in the quality of schools from say, Harvard to the 'Thomas Cooley School of Law'...
Job prospects at the big Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver firms are very very very very competitive and generally those big firms scoop up the top 'deans list' students from each Canadian law school. But if you are prepared to go outside of the big cities, there are lots of firms and I would say well over 90% of students get an articling position (requirement to be called to the bar in most provinces) and then whether the firm you article with decides to hire you back is a whole other story.
Hope this is helpful.
