I am a final year student in a L..L.B programme in the Caribbean.
I've suffered many personal and health challenges whilst obtaining my degree and as a result my grades suffered the consequences. I've spent 6 years doing my L.L.B., which under normal circumstances would've taken me 3 years to complete. In any case, I am now in the process of trying to raise my G.P.A. and successfully obtain my degree with honours.
I have always wanted to live and settle in Canada. Its been an ultimate dream of mine. But from what I've read on some of the boards its making me feel like that goal will never be attained.
I never knew just how difficult it was to practice law in Canada as a foreign trained professional.
I mean, I knew I'd have to complete a couple of conversion courses but hearing that if I am not successful with my NCA application, I'd have to go through another 3 years of law school is off-putting to say the least.
So I need to know, are there any foreign trained lawyers who went through this process and have been successful?
Please, I am losing hope right now.
