Indian Lawyer holding Indian Bar Membership and currently in USA seeks your urgent advice:

1. I am a new Immigrant from India with Green Card and Current Age +68.
2. Have Law Degrees from India (LL.B. and LL.M.)
3. Have +30 years legal experience in India and now holds Membership of Indian Bar
4. Looking for Job in legal field in USA for which he has no USA law qualification or experience. Instead of looking for odd jobs here and there, he is keen to pursue career in legal field.
5. Whether Advancing Age is a factor for getting into some job at this stage or after LL.M. examination.
6. I intend settling in VA where we live with our son who is supporting me and my wife for boarding and lodging; I would like to settle with independent earning situation so long as my capacity to work permits. I continue to be very active as on date.

Options suggested and being explored:

1. Continue looking for a job with some Law Firm Looks impossible without USA Law qualification or USA legal experience. Any advice.
2. To take up some ABA-approved Paralegal certification programme if this can help getting suitable Paralegal job based on this certification, immediately after passing Paralegal.
3. To join some career-friendly LL.M. Programme in some USA University; What courses should be taken to qualify for immediate placement after the LL.M. and in which University/Jurisdiction; cost being also a major factor without financial aid/scholarship.
4. Which University and what programme enjoys high value for LL.M. degree for the purpose of getting employment and also for Bar Exam purposes.
5. To join some Bar-Exam qualifying LL.M. Programme and register for Bar Exam to appear after LL.M., since many Bar jurisdictions require additional USA credits (NY requires additional 20 hours credit for foreign law degree holders)
6. What Jurisdiction Bar Exam is easiest to pass at this advancing age and how much time does this take after LL.M.
7. Is there a scope to appear directly in Bar Exam where it is easiest to pass. NYS Bar, I am told, is the most difficult exam with 3-days while other jurisdictions have 2-days.
8. Ultimate aim being getting a job rather than own practice because of age, what would like to suggest.

Many many thanks for your time and help. If you suggest my doing LL.M. rather than going straight for Bar Exam primarly from the point of view of job placement with a law firm, your urgent advice is very important since deadlines for many Universities are closing soon.
