Fordham and Bar Exam

Hi,
On the Fordham website, there is nothing about whether their LL.M. will qualify international students for the bar exam. It has just given reference to ny bar website. I wanted to make sure it qualifies for NY Bar. Any idea? Thanks so much.

I am 99% sure it does. It is not what school you go to, but that you finish an LLM. If you come from a common law country you don't even have to fnish an LLM in the US to take the bar in NY. So that shouldn't be a problem.

I had called them up today, they said, I can take the NY Bar. As for the LL.M. for bar exam goes, we anyway have to complete 20 credits, so most of us do LL.M. Thanks for the answer though.

Hi,
I am a Fordham LL.M. graduate (class of 2006). At the moment, I am studying for the NY Bar Exam. For the NY Bar, you can't go to ANY school, BUT you need to go to an ABA APPROVED school.
And also, people from the UK do not need a LLM degree, but people from certain other common law countries like Inida and Pakistan do need (for as far as I know). It depends on which common law country you are from.
However, people from common law country can do the Connecticut Bar Exam as well, together with the New York Bar Exam! :-)

Firstly, You don't even need an LL.M. to sit for the bar exam.

And, second, If you are an Attorney from India, you are eligible to sit for the Bar exam.

Especially, In Reference to NY Bar Exam and CA Bar Exam.
