Thx for your answer. As I have heard about "google" before, I found this page before posting here. I was more concerned about the phrase in the Rule 520.6 : (1) "The applicant shall show fulfillment of the educational requirements for admission to the practice of law in a country". As the German system is based on a two tier system, technically you will have to take an apprenticeship for a fixed period of time before you are fulfilling the requirements to sit for the Second Exam that admits you to practice law.

Did you also then click on the 520.6 link for further explanation? Sections (a) and (b) answer your question. (a) says you only need to have "studied in a foreign country." (b1) only requires the "educational requirements to practice law in a foreign country." The rest of section "b" clarifies. You should be fine.

Thanks, yes I did indeed. I read it the same way as you do. I was just trying to find someone who could ensure me 100% that I meet the requirements, as I have plans and expenses to make. Unfortunately the NY bar people are not helpful at all.

If the NY Bar people are not helpful, then they are like every other Bar employee in the country. :)
