Berkeley and NY Bar Exam

lili21

Hi!

I'm sorry for bothering you with this question but I have a doubt right now. I am on the waitlist for Berkeley and I would like to take the New York Bar exam. Is it possible to take the New York Bar exam with a LLM from Berkeley (with a prepa before of course)? It is certainly a stupid question but I have a doubt.

Thank you!

I got waitlisted last week. They told me that they have to wait because they do not know right now if they have to use the waitlist and so on. So I have to wait. I have other Universities but Berkeley could be great and I am just wondering if I can really take the NY Bar exam with this LLM.

Are you on the waitlist too?

Yes. I got waitlisted as well a few days ago.
Like you, I have the plan to take NY Bar exam. Many frineds of mine who graduated from Berkeley were granted NY bar examination. I guess it is possible.
btw, did you call the office about the waitlist procedure?
Do yoy know the your rank(something like quartiile) of waitliste, which was mentined in Mr.Gutzman's email.

I wrote an email because I have other options.
They just know that they might be able to give a rank a before May, 1st but that's all. As the deadline for some students is only in April (18th), I think that they will not be able to say something before.

@ lili21, btw, as I know, admission relasing date varies person by person, which means deadline varies from April 1st to April 18th. Also, some applicants may decline offer very soon. Consequently, Berkely may have available seats for the waitlisted.
Also, can we know the our rank of waitlist right now?
I would appreciate in advance for anycomment

But I think that all waitlisted have to confirm that they want to still on this waitlist by April, 9th. So they have to wait this deadline and the deadline of the admitted student. When I asked them last week they just told me that they could not say if they will use the waitlist so they did not start to rank people. They just told me that they'll try to give more information before May.
I do not know how they rank people. Maybe they take the first on the waitlist, maybe they replace country by country to keep the same numbers of students by country....really I do not know. Do you have other options?
