Hi, I'm part of the inaugural batch of NYU@NUS students. I haven't posted anything in a while but I believe that my classmates have kept you all well informed. Sometimes I wondered how Indian Lawyer answered all of the posts with our hectic schedule but I guess that it's in his nature to help others.
There haven't been any updates on the job fair because the job placement process takes time. It could take up to 3 months; usually there are 2 or 3 interviews with the different members of the law firm before they make an offer to the applicant, and it's been only a month since the Asia Job Fair.
Also, you have to take into consideration that most of us are starting our finals (next week so wish us luck!) so everyone is really busy and unable to post any updates.
Anyways, good luck to all of you with the admission process but I should warn you that we were first informed of our admissions (or at least some of us) on December 22, 2006 and subsequent months. This is a great program so I hope that all of you are able to join us next year!

how did you guys from the first batch got contacted about your admissions? Was it first by email or only regular post?
And after you got notified, what was the deadline to accept the offer? 7 days?
thanks

Those who were accepted were notified by email; I don't know the situation of those who were not admitted.
The deadline, at least for me, were 20 days or so. I was notified on December 22nd and I had to give an answer before mid january but I can't recall the exact date. I know there were some students who were notified later on so their time frame was smaller than mine.

Hi KVC
I'm from Delhi, India. I haven't received any information as yet regarding admission and scholarship. Even my transcript has not been uploaded.
It seems that so far only 2 persons on this forum have gotten admission and their transcripts have been uploaded. Hope this is not a reason to worry for those whose transcripts have not been uploaded. :)
All the best.
Cheers
Prashant

Hi!
I received an offer from NYU@NUS today. Arrived by mail. They want us to send the enrollment form n money by 12th jan which gives us very less time to make a decision, esp since other univ decisions are still pending. However, there is a meet on 4th Jan at India International Centre, Delhi for Indian students who have got through... Anyone coming?

Hi
AC 123, congrats on your admission. Were your transcripts and documents also uploaded online?
Have you got a scholarship also? 12th Jan is quite soon but if I get admission I won't have that problem cause I've only applied to NYU@NUS and nowhere else for the moment, so I'll send my form and the money immediately. :)
If I get my admission and scholarship decision before Jan 4th, I'll definitely be there for the meet at IIC. For the moment all I can do is wait and hope. :))
KVC, I did my LLB from Faculty of Law, Delhi Univ in 1997 and since then have worked for various law firms and MNC's before setting up my own law firm a couple of years ago. I personally specialize in Joint Ventures, Acquisitions, Contracts, Strategy and Business Collaborations.
All the best to all of us. :))
Cheers

Well, no I didn't upload my transcripts or recomendation letters online. Else, I submitted the online application.
There is no mention of scholarship in my letters... no accept, no reject. So, I am not quite clear what it means. Anyway, considering the enrollment day is so close, im guessing, there would be no scholarship.
You seem to have a great work profile! I hope you get through! Good Luck!! :D

HOw many people received acceptance letters so far? I was just wandering...is it easy to get into this program? Or is it the same as getting into the US program where NYU is tier 1 law school? Just curious on where we stand...
Also, did any of those who got schols NOT write the schol (singapura etc.) essays?

hey people, if u wanna know if u have been admitted just go to :
www.nyulawglogal.org/graduateadmissions
and click on the link entitled "welcome admitted students"
then using your admission identification number (9 digits)
888XXXXXX and the passaword is your birth date...
if it works that means you got admitted....if it does not, do not worry your application may not have been reviewed yet...

Hi All
Congrats to those who got admission letters and scholarships.
Raanash I think it's better to go to a place where you have a scholarship in my view. Unless of course you have enough money to fund your own studies. It's pretty expensive otherwise. I think the job scene will be clear only once the present batch receives their final job offers.
Charlotte, thanks for the link but it's not opening on my server. :((
Has anyone who's living in Delhi gotten admission as yet? I'm from Delhi and I'm still waiting. I'm actually assuming the worst because I'd applied on September 19, 2007, so that's a long time for my application to be reviewed. I'd applied for the Singapura Scholarship also. Hope that's not delaying things for me. :)
Even if not admitted, it would nice to know so that alternate plans can be explored. Especially since this was the only place I'd applied to. :)
Well hope to see those admitted over there otherwise all the best in any case.
Cheers
Prashant
