Announcing a new LLM in Asian Legal Studies at the National University of Singapore (NUS)

The NUS Faculty of Law is pleased to announce a new LLM degree in Asian Legal Studies, commencing August 2007. The one-year coursework programme adds to the diversity of the NUS law schools graduate offerings, and rides on Singapore's position at the crossroads of Asia.

The programme is an innovative one that will allow students to study in depth the laws, legal systems, institutions and legal traditions of South, Southeast, and East Asia, as well as affords the opportunity to focus on particular areas of law (e.g. commercial law, constitutional law and international law) as these are understood across the dynamic continent that is Asia. In essence, the programme will enable students to understand not only the law in its wider cultural context, but to appreciate its linkages with regional commerce, trade and politics.

The LLM (Asian Legal Studies) adds to the new LLM (Maritime Law) and the existing LLM (Corporate and Financial Services Law), LLM (Intellectual Property and Technology Law), LLM (International and Comparative Law) and the general LLM.
