MY NUS EXPERIENCE

esha

Hiya ppl,
I dnt know if u guys still remember me..well i was a regular on this forum till about 4 months back ..until the day i got here at NUS ..
Recently came across this bolggers added feature so thought it would be worthwhile to share my 3 months experience here at NUS for the benefit of all aspirants....
Im pursuing LLM in corporate and financial services , which i ve gathered is one of the more popular choices amongst most of the applicants to this univ..n hence the waiting lists.......
The course is well structured over a time period of about 10 months..varied subjects are offered..n students have the liberty of choosing subjects from within as well as outside their field of specialization..which one might like to pursue out of academic interest....
The faculty is hand picked and consists of many wellknown academedicians....
Im very impressed by the manner in which the classes are conducted in a very congenial setting....
The law faculty has now settled down in its new and beautiful campus and the initial hiccups that i and my other batch mates felt earlier are gone..
The international student community here is a delicious mix of students from europe , south -east asia , canada , US , Australia....etc
Another thing noteworthy of the institution is the assessment procedure--all graduate exams are open book..most of the modules stress on interactive assessments which make the study all the more interesting...
The univ is beautiful..the student community here is very active so life can never be boring here...the calender month is always beseiged with happening events...its all about balancing work n play in the end...
If there's anything anybody wants to know about the admissons process or about the course in general feel free to mail me on esha@nus.edu.sg
cheers!

Yea ..am almost done with my course here ..as far as the job scene goes.. most of my batch mates including me have found ourselves good jobs..i got placed with Wong Partnership and so did two of my other batchmates one of whom was pursuing LL.M in Intl. Business Law..then another got placed with Rajah & Tann , yet another with Shok Lin & Bok..and so on..The salary they are offering this year has gone way up than the last years..things surely are lukin bright here!..how did we get placed ? well the uni had organized a law career fair for the undergrads mostly in the school precincts ...quite a large number of firms came in..we all had the opportunity of interacting with em on one to one basis...n thats how the entire process started...The course as NUS is very well appreciated ....However , like i said "Most" of my batch mates have landed jobs...u ve to bank on ur luck to some extent!
