I want to learn more about Business laws. Can anyone help me about where should i start? Will i be able to join MLB without LLB? is there any other option i can opt for?

I want to do in distance.

Hi All...I am a student of MBL and pursuing C.A. final too. I am a qualified Cost accountant and Working with a famous indian company. In my opinion, MBL is not tough like CA/CWA/CS. The standard of CA/CWA/CS is too high. MBL is TOO COSTLY compared to the fees charges by CA/ CWA/ CS considering the salaries you earn with the certificate!

MBL study material is too simple and questions in exams often get repeated from previous question papers!! But still, pass percentage will be low!! Exam fees are too high! If you cannot clear the exams in two years, you will be charged continuation fee of Rs.2500/- per year (Applicable for next three years). It means if you want to appear for any paper after completion of three years from the course due date, you have to pay 3 years * Rs.2500/- = Rs.7,500/- in addition to exam fee of Rs.500/- per paper.i.e., Rs.7500/- (Continuation fee) + Rs.5,000 (Exam fees)= Rs.12,500/-!!!!! So, Think twice or thrice before you apply!

The course fee is Rs.34,800/- for 1st year and Rs.30,000/- for second year!! It means cost of course fee is Rs.64,800/- visit http://ded.nls.ac.in/fee-structure/ for details.
In my opinion, it is NOT advisable for anyone to join the course!! It cannot fetch you a job like a CA/CWA/CS!! I suggest Dont waste your Valuable time and Money for these kind of courses. Be wise in choosing the course!

it seems that NLSIU management is more focused on charging Premium fees using their brand image! Check the job opportunities for this course before you take a call. Get ready to spend at least Rs.80,000/- [ 65000/- (Course fee) + Rs.15,000 (Exam fee-assuming that you will clear the exams in 1st attempt). I DO NOT recommend this course,

@ Shankar , I wish that I had read your sincere guidance before.

I work for Semiconductor Research Industry. I am into research.

I swear, I had studied hard. I had prepared more than any technical exams I have cleared till now. I was shocked to see my results. I failed in all the three papers(Banking Law, Industrial Relation Law, Environmental Law) I gave for MBL-I. I thought of giving remaining two papers(Contract law, Corporate Law) next year nicely. But all in dark.

I work for Ministry of Defence,India. For each and every research we do, we pray that it shall boost Indian Defence. It really hurts to know that such a institute of high repute have such a despicable target.

I can feel each and every word of Mr. Shankar, as I was moved by seeing that the cost of revaluation and asking a photocopy of answer sheet is more than the exam fees. Exam fees is already high, if we consider the fact that we had already paid such a high amount of around 30,000 bugs.

The poor marks obtained may not affect my academic health or career as I have enrolled it solely for knowledge purpose. But for those who are hunting their academics and career, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COURSE. I regret that I had advised few of my colleagues to join it while I was preparing for course. But I shall repay the regret by exposing real motifs of NLSIU-DED to all my colleagues.

@Shankar, however since I had already made a blunder in starting the course can you suggest how to prepare for exams ? Being into research I have no law background.

Hi....its unfortunate that nobody has replied to your thread (despite a fairly active Indian presence on this website)! Anyway, just to answer your question -- I am not a student of NLSIU, Bangalore, although I am in my final year of a three-year LL.B. course from a fairly reputed institution in India. I know a lot of people from my college who do the MBL degree while completing their LL.B.s. (I have not done it myself). It is a preferred choice of degree for a lot of students in India wanting to know more about the business and commercial aspects of law in India, and draws students from fairly diverse backgrounds (not necessarily legal). From what friends who are currently doing the course tell me, it is not easy, but regular study throughout the year helps a lot.

If you'd like to speak to some who are still doing the course, pl email me and let me know! It wont be a problem at all!
