Employability

Our LLM programmes attract students from all over the world. Teaching methods are geared towards our students' needs, conducted mainly through seminars and tutorials in small classes.

We arrange guest lectures and visits, to enhance your practical and professional experience. We have a dedicated Employability and Placements Team, to introduce our students to a range of high-quality employers. Swansea graduates are in demand with local, national, and international employers.

Members of the LLM team are active in research and are at the cutting edge of their discipline, publishing books and articles at the highest level. In the Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021), 83.3% of our Research was Rated as Producing Considerable Impact in Terms of its Reach and Significance.

The School of Law at Swansea is home to sector-leading facilities. Our focus continues to be on the provision of research-led and skills-orientated education, which is enhanced by our facilities.

Our two buildings house our professional Law Clinic space, authentic courtrooms, and vibrant teaching, study and social spaces. Our Law Clinic brings members of the legal profession into the school, to supervise our students advising real-life clients, giving invaluable first-hand experience.

Take a proactive role in your academic studies, especially where time management is concerned. Engage in the non-grading modules.

Shipping and Trade Law LLMs: 2:2 honours degree in law or a cognate discipline.  

LLM LegalTech and LLM Human Rights: Minimum 2:1 honours degree.

LLM in Legal Practice and Advanced Drafting or LLM Professional Legal Practice: A 2:2 or above in a UK qualifying honours degree in law (as specified by the SRA) from a UK recognised university or a Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) or equivalent qualification. 

LLM Law and Legal Practice: 2:2 honours degree in any discipline.

If English is not your first language you will need an acceptable pass in an approved English Language qualification such as the IELTS test, with a score of 6.5 (with a minimum of 6.0 in each component) or equivalent.

Candidates with alternative professional qualifications or experience are also encouraged to apply.

The School of Law is located on the coastal Singleton Park Campus, set in beautiful parkland, and within easy reach of the stunning Gower coastline. It is also a short distance away from the vibrant city centre, with its shopping centre, bars, restaurants, and relaxing sea front.

We have a range of sports facilities available to our students, with a sports village, gym, track and pool within a stone’s throw of our singleton park campus.
