Hey, just submitted my application today, with DHL charging an arm and a leg for express delivery. Changes of admission are likely slim, but it's all about trying :-).

Dear fellows,

Application submitted, and they already replied me just for telling me that my application file was complete. let's wait and see...just one question for all yale applicants: in a dreaming perspective in which you get admitted both from Yale and Harvard, which one do you choose and why?

Best of luck to all of you.

I have a problem, I express airmailed my application on 6 november 2008 and my application is lost in transit (tracking has been 'in transit' since 6 november)......courier company is trying to figure out what is going on.....do you think Yale would reject my application if it reaches slightly late? should i even try to email them to explain my situation?

Cheers,

Hope not of course. Anyway, in case they will, you can point out the date on which you sent your application...there shouldn't be any problem...

XGregX: That's a terrible situation to be in, especially since one usually chooses express delivery over regular delivery for the better and guaranteed services. I can't answer your question wheter Yale will accept applications that got delayed in transit, after all, their webpage says something like "It is your responsibility to send us the documents on time". But of course I do hope that they won't be too strict.
Another thing: Did you submit your application form electronically? I heard from a fellow student who applied for an LL.M. last year (not Yale though) and who had submitted documents late that the universities are only strict about receiving the application form on time and that other documents (transcripts, LoRs, TOEFL) can still be submitted later.

Unfortunately, i chose the full paper version :(

I can't remember why I did that because it is clearly the more inconvenient option - I could use my credit card to pay for online application but I even went to the bank to wire money over to pay my application fees!

ahh.. this sucks lol....i have already invested money on the app fee and the express mail so I hope Yale will consider my app..!! :(

Hi BelgiumLLM, I am currently "only" a research/teaching assistant in public law at a law school in Germany. As a professor I probably wouldn't bother applying for an LL.M. anymore :-). What about you?

i have got a big fat problem. I have sent out my application via express airmail on 6 November and have been tracking my mail. My tracking results ended on 6 November and there has been no activity since (in transit it says). I have checked with post company and they are looking into it as well.

Should I email Yale about this? How should I approach this situation? If I were to remake my entire application, I will still not make the deadline.

HELP!!!!

---

I have got this fixed now so dont worry about it. Courier company found it and delivered it.

i think you would need a miracle to get all your items in by Saturday. Unless yale is willing to accept your online application first and supporting documents slightly later?

Which certification are you referring to? The only certification I recall including in my application would a be a letter from my Law School providing my class ranking - is this the one you are referring to? I know that some schools require that so I requested for my Law school to include that in the same envelope containing my transcript.

Other than that, I can't really think of a 'certification letter'. It would be okay to finish you online app on nov 15 and try to submit your certification slightly later but this is just my opinion and it would really depend on how strict they are. Sorry if it is not much help. If you are worried about the application fee going to waste, perhaps you should call them and make a general enquiry?

Hey guys,

I already submitted my application to Yale also.

I was wondering, all of you that are applying to Yale are full time academics (given that is a program for future law professors and researchers) or combine their teaching with private practice?

Regards

I am in private practice and have absolutely no teaching experience. Hoping to make the transition over.

I know that some applicants who are on this board are already holding teaching /research assistant positions so I would think that there applications would be more attractive to Yale. Not sure though, i think your geographic location plays a part too.

Cheers,

go to http://www.law.yale.edu/admissions/llmapplicationforms.htm and you will see two options available, two links to choose from: the "our electronic application" and the ll.m. application form. If you wish to apply online, choose the first option.
