How come Stanford doesn't appear in your personal top tens ? Since it's a top 3 law school (http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/grad/rankings/law/brief/lawrank_brief.php), I guess its LL.M. program should be a top one too ...

Well, maybe because they offer only two specialized concentrations (Corp. Gov and IT) and they take only 10 students in each class. It looks like if they do not want to much applications: The appl. deadline was Dec. 15. (so I missed it by far) and they demand a high level in engl. proficiency, appl. fee is higher, Frankly, I meant that I have no chance and tried only one of the most selective Schools, namely Berkeley (they take 30). If I could I would apply today because I got the feeling, that in most of the others top 10 schools llm-programms are cash cows (HLS, NYU, etc. are 200 students and the faculties are not that bigger...).

Actually Stanford IS one of my TOP choices (with HLS).

The reason is that I really want to specialize in IP law and they have a LLM in law science and technology.

Did you apply ?

Unfortunately not, I thought I wouldn't have any chance anyway... and now I regret. I am waiting for Berkeley now ... If it doesn't work out, I'll go to PennLaw, wich is not that strong in IP, but I have personal reasons to go there...
