Vanderbilt vs. U. Illinois vs. GWU

SnowBerry

Hey everyone.

I was admitted to these three Universities. U. Illinois offered me a scholarship of USD 20,000.00.

I know both the University of Illinois and GWU offer the specialization in International Law, while Vanderbilt offers a generic LL.M with the option of specialization in a second year. Both want an answer by March 1st. I still don't know which one I should pick (cities, faculty, etc).

Any information/help is appreciated!

Thanks!

It's so difficult to ignore the scholarship. I'm torn, to be honest. I'm assuming GWU is the best one in terms of a career path after graduation?

Most people I talk to don't have good experiences about living in DC, though. What to do?

Never thought picking one would be so difficult, hehehe.

I've lived and worked in DC (Georgetown specifically), and I had a great time there. I loved the city, it was (and sure still is) plenty of social events and interesting people to meet. I'm planning to search for a job there once my master here in Chicago will be over... your only concern shall be the choice to make with regard to which school to attend, but trust me when I say DC is a great place to to spend one (or more) year(s) of your life

All three are good schools. With a $20,000 scholarship from Illinois it kind of seems like your mind is made up for you. But, if you haven't decided Vandy is the most highly ranked and regarded law school. I took an LL.M. there and really enjoyed it. If you have a particular interest in International Law or Corporate then the school's faculty is really strong in these areas. The law school staff are also incredibly helpful.
