I'm in my final year of law. GPA of 3.4. I have interned in NGO and law firms. IELTS-cleared. Interested in Corporate law.
Also can you suggest me some good law schools which are best are corporate/business law. Do I stand a chance at any top league law schools?

Absolutely! You still have time. I'd advise you to get started on the LSAC website.

With regards to finding the best schools, I think you should be looking to apply to as many as you can tbh. You never know which one will accept you.

I think you have a good chance - it's all about telling your life story and how the LLM will help you.

If you want to do corporate stuff - the East coast has a lot of it but so does the west coast. On the west coast I'd recommend Stanford, UC Berkeley and UCLA as my top choices.

Hope this helps and feel free to reach out to me - I remember being in your exact position! :-)

Hey! Don't worry too much about experience - I'm at Columbia this year and there are definitely some students who haven't had any real work experience apart from internships etc.

Hi there,

Berkeley Law does accept the IELTS, with a minimum score requirement of 7.0. You can submit that score to LSAC the same way you would submit the TOEFL. I believe most of our peer institutions also accept the IELTS; you can confirm that on their admissions websites.

Best of luck!

Yes, it's definitely still possible to apply for LL.M. programs for the 2014 academic school year.

Many excellent law schools offer a specialized LL.M. degree in corporate law, so you should also consider other factors when choosing where to apply to, including where you want to spend a year living (i.e. a bustling financial center or a beautiful suburban campus), the university's resources and opportunities for LL.M. students (including academic and research opportunities, career advising, as well as certificate programs in business/management), the size of the LL.M. program, and LL.M. scholarship opportunities.

As for English language exams, many North American law schools accept the IELTS, but there are also many that do not. Make sure to check the website of each law school you're planning to apply to as soon as possible. If you find that you need to take the TOEFL exam, you should still have time to take it if you sign up soon.

When it comes to work experience requirements, it varies from school to school. It seems, however, that you do have solid internship experience and that counts for a lot as well.

Best of luck with your applications!

Hey.. is there more weightage to LSAC evaluation report? does it mean that a person with 'superior' ranking has an edge over 'above average'?
