I fully concur.
And the fact they say the process may last well into the month of April, is fairly annoying given the fact that we are requested to make our first deposit no later than April 1st.
But thats how the cookie crumbles I guess.. I mean they clearly have the upper hand.. :-)
P.S. - Startochelo, we've been accepted to fairly the same places so far.. while theres more schools to go and as discussed money will play a crucial factor here.. would like to know at some point how you plan to make your decision.

Got my admissions email yesterday. I applied mid-October. Thrilled!
Posted Jan 24, 2014 18:31
Congratulations to those admitted.
Just wondering, did the status change on your UPenn account from 'Application Under Review' to something else?
Yep, it changed to decision rendered.
PS.- HopefulCandidate, I'll PM you.

I applied for early review in last week of October , ack received on 30 October. No reply from UPenn till now. This is frustrating.

Just checked my application status. It says held for further review. It's disappointing. Haven't received any email as such. Anyone else who has had a similar experience. It might help to check the application status.

anushree87: My application has the same status, but I received an e-mail from UPenn clarifying that it will be evaluated together with the regular cycle applicant poll.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Applicant br an the rest of the group .
Can an admission be deferred if they haven't been able to get in touch with a particular professor or recommender.
I received a confirmation from my employer regarding this, need to check with my professor.

To all those that have been admitted, could you kindly share ur credentials in brief and give ur toefl score. This is the 2nd univ where. My application has been deferred to regular cycle and its kinda worrying me. I submitted my application with a score of 110, 2 years work experience, LLB degree from India, but I am residing in the United States since 2012.
Also is it a good idea to call or email admissions and try and find out why the application has been deferred or is it pending because of some cross checking with recommenders.

Deferred too and a little bit surprising. Could you please check with your employer/professor regarding "Can an admission be deferred if they haven't been able to get in touch with a particular professor or recommender"?
Besides, I was wondering if "defer"="waiting list". What's the probability of receiving an AD after being deferred?

Hmmm... I cross checked with my employer, have sent a mail to my professor. I am just double checking that my credentials are not incomplete in any way.
Yeah I would like to know too if there are chances of admission after being deferred. Also is there a common wait list or ppl who hav applied for early review are in som separate category

Hello guys,
I got an offer last week. Applied in the mid October for early review. Good luck for those waiting!
Read through the admitted students website, still wanna know more about life in Philadelphia. I'd appreciate it if you could let me know how you liked it :)

Hey guys,
First of all, congrats to all the admitted students and good luck for those still waiting...
I am currently studying at UPenn. So, if you want to know more about the program or about Philly you can pm me.
With respect to the wait list, even though u were not admitted in the early review, you do have chances of getting the admission on the regular cycle.
With respect to life in Philly, Philly is a nice city, there are some good bars, museums and restaurants and it is very close to NY (the trip by train takes around 1 hour and 20 min). It is a very historical city. There are a couple of websites where u can learn more about the city.
Best wishes!

Hi,
I got through Upenn! Received an email last-to-last week. Same day as the other posts in this thread.
I need to know about the scholarships though. I don't really have that much of money in handy and don't feel happy about seeking funding from parents. :/
Congrats to everyone who has made it :D

Hi Everyone,
According to the Graduate Admissions Office, they plan to make financial assistance determinations in late February but the process may also last well into the month of April.
Hope this help.

Hi.
My documents was received by UPenn about 4 weeks back but I have still not heard back. A little jittery, is someone else sailing in the same ship.

Hi,
I'm afraid you might still have a few weeks ahead of you before hearing from them.
Upenn has just released the early notifications decisions (for those who completed their applications by Nov. 15). Regular cycle notifications are not out yet.
Good Luck!
PS: Thanks for the info lmclouet!
