Hi guys,
i need your advice because am about to make a big decision in my life. I am a trained lawyer from Nigeria with a US residence permit and recently gained admission into the University of Houston for LLM program in Energy law with a $10k scholarship and also an offer at the University of Texas, Austin with no scholarship for LLM in Global Energy, International Arbitration and Environmental Law. I am bothered about getting a job after masters. Which of the 2 school do you think would increase my chances of getting a good job after my program. I also intend to write the Bar exam after my program.
UH or UT?

I'd personally take the scholarship and go to UH. The school has a strong brand if you aim to work in the energy/oil sector

@stagista 11. Thanks a lot for your advice. My wish is to work in an oil and gas company when am done with masters. But don't you think the school rating matters as well especially if I want to work outside Texas? I feel going to UT would increase my chances of getting a job in that field both within and outside Texas. Your opinion would be much appreciated.

UT has a better academic reputation but Houston has a lot of employment opportunities in oil & gas. I think Houston might actually have an edge in the energy sector.

I agree with previous comments in that UH's reputation in energy/oil law is greater than UT, which in turn enjoys a better overall reputation as law school
