Everybody's application in UCLA is already completed? I applied on January 6 and my application is incomplete so far. I tried to reach them by mail a couple of times, but didn't receive any satisfatory response...

Congrats to everyone. If you are wondering whether to go to Berkeley, UCLA or USC, my recommendation is choose Berkeley. I've been here now for 7 months and it's fantastic. A huge + for Berkeley is that it's considered to be in tier 1 with Stanford, Harvard, Yale etc, whereas UCLA and USC are considered tier 2. It makes all the difference on the job market. USC campus is nice, but situated in a really bad area. Anyway, whatever you choose, you will have a great year.

Thx for the advice. Did you see any affects of the budget cuts? That topic was a big issue last year. I think that is also the reason why Berkeley went down on the rankings.

Do you have any info regarding the professional LL.M: Program? Are there any regular students on the campus during the summer term?

I have now offers from UPenn, Vanderbilt, USC, and Berkeley? What is you experience? How is the reputation of UPenn and Vanderbilt?

Hi everyone. So it seems that UCLA is not going to send decisions yet...I applied to Berkeley as well and no news up to now. I got admitted to Northwestern and to the NYU@NUS program. It's going to be a difficult decision.

Where the heck did that tier-ranking come from?!?!? While I concede that Berkeley might be better ranked and have a better reputation in the US as far as law schools go, that is not necessarily true for the university's reputation in general and especially not across borders.

Plus, always consider that your employer in your home country will most likely not care at all about the ranking (or marginal differences). Pick a program that allows you to do what you wanna do, then look to living conditions and then look to rankings...unless of course you want a job in the US (but then consider a JD...).

Scholarship decisions from USC came with the admission letter last year.

Congrats to everyone admitted so far! Did you update your app-tracker and board posts as soon as you heard? I'm just wondering as I'm a Fulbright Scholar so I have to wait to hear back from Fulbright about the uni decisions. This is fairly frustrating given the time differences as it's the end of the working day here in the UK but is the middle of the working day in the States (part of it anyway!)

Just got admitted with a scholarship. My application was received on January 20th.
Does anybody know what is UCLA reputation when it comes to public international law? I know Columbia, NYU and Georgetown are the best but is UCLA a good option to consider in case I got refused?

Congrats on your admission and scholarship! Did you get a Dean's Tuition Scholarship or a different one?

The reputation of UCLA is excellent for areas of public international law like gender, sexuality, discrimination, etc amongst other things. The faculty is very well respected the world over in these areas. I don't know enough about it to comment on the other areas of legal specialisation. What's your area?

Ive been to UCLA for summer sessions, and in General its an outstanding law school! I havent heard much about the international law program, but a top school like ucla will no doubt have a great one! I think u should enroll unless u get admitted to NYU or Columbia! good luck

millyb60, I got a Dean's tuition scholarship. My area of specialization is international criminal law and rule of law. But as long as their public international law program in general is good it doesn't really matter. What is yours?
omarssherif , They requested my LSAC report end of january, 10 days after I applied. It is weird that it took them so much time to request yours! But I am sure you will hear from them soon! The deadline to accept the offer is April 2nd so I guess they will send admissions offers or refusal before that deadline.
