UCLA LLM 2011-2012

Hello! Just thought I'd start a thread for those who will be attending UCLA this fall for the LLM Program. I'm still waiting on other schools, but at this stage I've set my feet on UCLA.

I called their office this morning for information about housing and stuff - they even said I should go to craig's list for roommates and such.

Do you guys think it's better to live on campus or to go find an apartment and share it with roommates?

Ps. Congrats again to all of you who have been admitted. Let me know what you have to share.

I will also be attending UCLA this fall :)

Since I'm going to LA with a friend, who is attending another school, I will be looking for an apartment off-campus.

Elisabet, once you start looking for an apartment, would you mind sharing some tips with me? Most likely it will be a student neighbourhood!

Does anybody know if craigslist prices are on a weekly or monthly rate? Sometimes I´m not sure..

It would be interesting to rent a furnished house with 3-4 people. I saw some between 3k and 4k $. Near to the beach is a must!

The craigslist prices are most often monthly. I have seen some that are weekly, but that is usually for short-term holiday rentals.

Hey guys,

When you're looking on craigslist for appartments, what area do you look for? I have no idea about what city is where and which areas are close to UCLA and which aren't so I don't know where to search!

Hi :)

It's best to look in westside-southbay. You can also put in search words like UCLA, Westwood, Brentwood, Santa Monica or other areas you want to live in.

It's also good to check the location of the apartment in maps.google.com.

Hello guys, congrats to all for your admission at UCLA. I have been admitted at UCLA, UTexas and probably I will be admitted at Georgetown, or at least I think so. If any of you have a particular reason for going to UCLA, It will be great if you share it with me, since I find myself very undecided about where to finally go.

Regards

Hi everybody, I just got the offer letter from UCLA but have also got offer letter from NUS Singapore for Corporate & Financial Services Law as well as International Business Law. Since the course fee at NUS is very reasonable I am pretty undecided as to which university I should accept? UCLA or NUS? Is NUS Singapore on equal standing as UCLA or is UCLA better? Pleaseeeeee reply and help me out!

I´m not sure about the standing of the NUS..but I think the program is good because they are investing a lot in education and a lot of business is going on here.
But I´m in Singapore at the moment and I can tell you I would choose California over Singapore anytime.

Anyone else heard after the March 14th-16th acceptances? I'm still waiting and the wait is painful :(

Well what I think is that we will hear nothing until a group of the accepted guys reject the offer or let the time pass without any answer..I assume...by April 15 they will send new offers to those who are waitlisted based on those who did not accept.....unless someone here tell us that he received an offer during last week...in that case..my theory is just....()&%$·

I'm very excited to be attending UCLA in the fall and looking forward to meeting my fellow classmates! I've been living in LA for the last 9 years and would be happy to be a resource for anyone relocating here who's not familiar with LA. Another resource for housing besides Craig's list is West Side Rentals. I found them very helpful in the past when I was looking for good places to rent.

Hi everybody! I am also attending UCLA and would love to share an apartment or house close to campus. I have used craigslist before and think it is the best way to find a great place. Looking forward to meeting you all in August!

Hi, I will accept the offer during this week (I am having problems on logging in but I have already made up my mind with UCLA).

I have been told that it is best to look for an apartment or house outside campus; do you know which are the best places for looking for a place to sraty? Of course as kinga84 I would like to share them with other students.

See you on August!!!

Hey guys,
I'm currently looking for a roommate and a place to stay in LA. I already posted in UCLA Law Rommate Finder and UCLA Community Housing Office, but I'm not satisfied with the answers I got so far...
PM me if you are interested!
Have a good day.
