I think I will decline Chicagos offer and accept Columbias. But I will wait for the reception offered by Dean Badger in my country before deciding.

Chicago is a better choice compared with Columbia

Wow! I was waitlisted by Chicago, and seem to have slim chance given that quite a few of you guys have chosen Chicago over CLS...Perhaps it is due to the bad economy that undermines the charming of CLS being in NYC.

will choose between nyu and chicago soon - both are great schools, but would love to live new york. however, in this economy and as euro is getting weaker I think will choose chicago...anyway, can't go wrong either way!

I've got it last Friday (I'm from Brazil). It must be coming shortly to you.
They sent the letter, a memo with brief instructions for next steps and a hardcopy booklet with the current students and faculty data.

I received it last friday enclosed with a booklet about the members of the faculty and the JD students.
For those on the waiting list, I withdrew last week my application there. I hope it will help !

My deadline for accepting Columbias offer expire in two more days, and I am not completely sure where to attend. I will have to take the big decision tomorrow, but so far, I think that I will head to Chicago!

Honestly I'd rather choose Columbia over Chicago...better name worldwide...then, it also depends on which subject you'll focus

If your field is Law & Economics (antitrust, regulatory issues etc.), do not hesitate: Chicago. If your field is Corporate Law, both Chicago and Columbia are equally good. If your field is International Law, chose Columbia.
If you want to create strong ties with faculty and classmates, chose Chicago. If you want to meet a lot of people from different countries, Columbia (the problem is that you will only know a few well).
In any case nataisja, you cant go wrong. Both law schools have the same prestige and the decision will depend in what is better for you.
I was waitlisted by Chicago and unfortunately, Columbia didnt offer me any financial aid.

Today I refuse Columbia, NYU and Berkeleys offers and sent the acceptation email to Mr. Badger.
Do you know already where to live at Chicago? The good thing is that housing in Chicago is really inexpensive compared to New York (NYC housing should be around 3 times more expensive) or San Francisco.
See you in September!
