GSAR- Yup.. i got waitlisted too.. i was just relieved that the whole thing was over..

@pragh- a lot of ppl this year actually dun wanna go to chicago even if they got thru.. so i am not sure about that theory about the standby ppl not getting a shot at admission.. it doesn't matter anyway.. i wont be going to chicago myself..

Why is that, if I may ask? You mean a lot of applicants from India? There must be particular reasons for that...

Not only from India.. but from around the world.. i know of atleast three ppl who got in from this forum but dun wanna go to Chicago coz they either got into Penn or NU.. so maybe this year things might just change.. i dun wanna go to chicago coz i would wanna go to NYU.. n mabe i do have a shot at it conisdering NYU has more place n their LLM class..

From India i know a couple of people who do actually wanna go..so for them i only hope that they get in..

I see...Penn and Chicago are so close in terms of ranking, and I agree that NYU prevails over Chicago or Penn for its superb location, among other factors. Best of luck!

Hi Atticus, it seems that you and I are pretty much on the same boat: I really wanna get into Chicago and NYU, but prefer NYU (and prefer Columbia and top 3 over all of the others)...NYU is also gonna be a looong wait!! I think my Chicago result in coming out today!! ahhhhhhh

@atticus : Congrats for Chicago. Getting waitlisted is the next best thing after getting in, so that's a good thing! I, on the other hand, am still waiting... although I think I prefer not to get a reply. I'm in the middle of my exam period and this will be my first reply from all of the schools I have applied to. And given that atticus got waitlisted, I wonder how many chances I have of getting in. : $ Atticus, I have been reading the thread and have been totally relating with your agony! So much that I totally forgot my own! I guess now all I can do is wait. Good luck with NYU atticus! I don't know you personally, but I have got the impression that you have what it takes to get in!

@tota- i know.. its totally cool that i got waitlisted.. but doesn't mean that you are not going to get in.. i am sure u'll get in.. when did u get ur application complete email anyway? if it was in december i think u'll be hearing from them today.. i shall be online so i would want to hear the good news.. :) It was really scary last night coz i kept waiting n waiting.. lost lawyer heard at 3.45 n i had to wait till 5 to hear from them.. Have u applied to NYU as well tota? it would be great if we get in NYU together.. all the best with ur exams.. dun stress.. i know u'll do fine..
