Im waiting for UW. I did apply to Miami-estate planning. Any idea how these schools notify us of their decisions?

I think UW responds via email (if they respond...I emailed them asking about turn-around time once apps were complete and was informed very politely that they have "no idea" when I would be reviewed...lol)

USD emailed to let me know my file was complete and turned over to the admissions committe, then they send a letter USPS. Dunno about Miami.

When were your apps in?

I just went complete at both UW and USD this week. Miami I went complete last week.

I got an email from USD stating that my file was complete and being reviewed.

My file was complete last Thurs at USD, they called me on Tue to let me know the acceptance was in the mail. UW sent me an email that my electronic file was complete, but they never let me know the rest was received. I sent it overnight mail though, so I know they received it a month ago.

I think USD moves pretty quickly though; I did my JD there too so it was probably easy enough for them to review my records.

Any thoughts on where you want to go if you get in to all of them? I am biased toward USD myself, they are the reason I dig tax in the first place, but I'm waiting to see what scholarship opportunities might be available.

Wow that is a quick turnaround. Mine was complete at USD on 3/10. I got an email from them today saying that they received another LOR and will be adding it to my file. It should be pretty soon at this rate.

I am not sure. I am most concerned with USD merely because its in CA and the economy is so bad I worry about employment afterwards. Tell me more on USD?

I applied to USD and UW because of location. I live in HB and am from the seattle area so either place I wouldnt mind. It all depends on the job market. and the Miami program is the only one that has a better focus and is tops in the rankings. Ahhhh Im so up in the air right now. lol.

Lol! Look at that timing!

I just got a letter of acceptance from UW today. (or "recommendation for acceptance")

I'm leaning more towards USD at this point tho...waiting fingers crossed for scholarship offers, but I know everyone gets so many good candidates so it's a long shot.

How about you? Any word besides Miami?

No word yet. Once I got the letter from Miami they told me I have two weeks to send in the seat deposite and accept the offer of I lose the seat.

I am leaning towards Miami anyway because I think I would rather be an estate panner than a standard tax attorney. I like the client interaction and feel I would thrive in that environment.

I am in the current UW class. I would highly recommend the program. The teachers are fantastic (both entertaining and incredibly knowledgable).

If you want to do Estate Planning, all LLM programs could get you there. That is my desire as well, and there are tons of courses focused on the subject.

It really comes down to where you want to live. If you want to live in NW, the UW has a lot of credibility.

As a current student can you talk about job prospects, starting salaries, etc? Is an llm from UW mobile or is it washington only? I too want to do estate planning.

Hey, I'm an international applicant and I've been admitted to the Tax LLM at UW Seattle. I would like to know about the career opportunities available to the LLM graduates. Would the University offer any help in giving any Bar exams or for placements etc?
