The news coming out of most quarters is that finding work after LLM is very unpredictable to say the least difficult. You have to go to a top ten law school to have any good chance of getting a job after your LLM, that does not even guarantee you a job! but it definately increases your chances. But as treacherous as these waters may seem many of us will still venture into this uncertain terrain.
I am an intending LLM student from Nigeria and i have gotten into emory and university of florida, i am also on the waitlist of vanderbilt university,i am very undecided about what school to go to.
Emory looks like my best option from the rankings, atleast from the schools ive gotten into, university of florida on the other hand has a fantastic Taxation programme. Vanderbilt looks to be the higest ranking school out of the trio, but i am on the waitlist, i would rather focus on schools i have already been accepted, although i am trying all i can to get in, i have sent them an additional personal statment hoping it will give my application a boost!
I set up this blog for intending and gradutes of LLM programmes to give an insight, share their thoughts, and offer incisive analysis into helping explore the posibilities open to LLM gradutes looking for work. There has to be a market we can exploit!
Please lets share our thoughts, look foward to hear from you all.
