I have been granted scholarship by way of partial fee-waiver by Case Western Reserve University. Lately, I have learnt about availability of financial assistance at Vanderbilt University Law School. Moreover, at Vanderbilt I found the curriculum and courses more broader and different than others.

Congrats Jaideep and NRIattorney on your admissions.
I too am a lawyer from India and have applied to some of the Institutions you mentioned. My interest is Securities Law.
Are there any candidates applying towards an LL.M with an emphasis in Securities Law?

Hellooo ppl...
I am from India and have been in the profession for 3 yrs now. Today morning only I got a call from Georgetown, but am still in two minds of accepting it as I do not know how good is Georgetown for corporate laws. One of my friends in CLS just infomed that all that sells in the US market for interntaional students is "Yale, Harward, Stanfors, NYU, CLS, UPENN, Chicago......but unfortunately Georgetown, Fordham and like others are not safe for investing so much money in". The same has been confirmed by a few more ppl I know working or having studied in US. I am not saying that Georgetown is not a good school...it def is... but the big question is that good for investing so much money in..specially when they do not have any scholarships/ grants etc ? (Do they ?)
Also I am eagerly waitig for admission decissions for NYU, CLS, UPENN and Duke. I applied for all in early review...any idea when the decisions are out ?
More particularly I applied for NYU@NUS mostly in the hope of getting a tution waiver. ( most students got upto USD 35000 year). The admission decision is pending for there too. I have heard mixed reviews abt NYU@NUS and specially it not being recognised outside Asia. Is it worth it to save a considrable amount of money for this program ?
I am sure I will get more than plentiful info from all you guys for my qs.
Cheers.

Hi KVC
The Georgetown too sells good in US Markets; I am told that after LL.M also the job market for a graduate from Georgetown is very lucrative. Until you get an offer from any other higher law school, this offer is worth considering. The amount required is really not a toll comensurate the benefits.

I think Georgetown's ranking for Tax program is ranked up there (#3? after NYU (1) and UF (2)). I also heard that they have job fairs within the year in Georgetown (i'll bet they have that too, in other schools), so that you can apply for a job even when you're not done with the degree, and might have a job waiting for you after. I hope I get the same good experience, too.
I got admitted for GT's tax program. What would you consider a "higher school"? I assume that there's a lot of room (I hope!) for jobs for graduates from varied schools?

Dear all,
I'm also an international student applying for LL.M. 2008.
Glad to know that there are many people like me working on the application stuff. :D
I applied to eight schools,
including Georgetown, Penn, Duke and Northwestern.
But as for Georgetown, it seems that I'm rejected since I'm not able to log in the admitted students website. (sigh)
Anyway, nice to meet u all and good luck!
