I'm currently finishing my 2L year and working on next year's schedule. I'm interested in possibly pursuing a LLM in tax and have a few questions.

1) My school has a "tax emphasis" program for JDs. Is this worthwhile? Would employers care? Would tax LLM admissions care?

2) I have the impression it is more common for JDs to graduate, work a few years, and then get a tax LLM. Do some go directly to a tax LLM program after finishing their JD? Would that weaken your application? What about employment opportunities after finishing the LLM? What about attending the LLM program full-time vs. part-time and working?

Thanks.
