Tax and Corporate law, LLM

Anikas

Hi to all !

I have been admitted to the Dickinson law School at Penn State with full scholarship. I would like to do LLM in tax and corporate law and did not apply for any other university.

I have to take a decision to go or not. I work in a big 4 accounting firm as a senior tax specialist with over 3 years of experience and do not want to break my career if the tax and corporate law program in Penn State is not good.

I need your advice. Thank you in advance !

I personally don't know much about Penn State, except that it is not a top school in the US.

As it seems you've got a good job, to me personally the only reason to go and do the LLM would be for personal development.

If you would like to apply for another job after the LLM, fe. in law firms, you'll be helped a lot more with Top 14 US schools.

The Penn State tax LLM is not a top program. If you did the program, you'd probably wind up back where you started. Considering the current economy, I'd keep your job and avoid the $50,000 in tuition and expenses.
