I have a rather complicated set of issues regarding my legal studies. I'm a dual US/UK citizen, currently living in London. I have a undergrad and masters in non-law subjects. I want to eventually go back to the US to live (in 4-5 years). I just started the College of Law's GDL program. After also taking their LPC program, I automatically get an LLB. It seems this would not be sufficient on its own to allow me to take the New York Bar due to the durational problem (I won't have been in class for the required number of hours). However, would the GDL+LPC+LLB be considered substantially equivalent, so that if I took an LLM in the States, I'd be able to take the NY Bar without having to qualify as a solicitor in the UK?
Any suggestions gratefully received.
