Stanford Specializations 2017-18

Hi all,

Is it okay or wise to apply to both ELP and IELBP specializations at the same time? Understand that normally its SPILS and another spec. Will it not be taken against you that there may be an impression you're not sure which track you've chosen? Or you're committing some sort of "forum shopping" because it's as if you're going for two tries? I'm afraid there can also be some difficulty in writing one personal statement for both, as your focus can be "diluted". And later how their admissions process is done if you applied for both.

Appreciate your thoughts.

Another question: if you apply to multiple programs, would it mean that they will consider you first for the primary program, and if you do not get accepted there, then that's the time you'll be considered to the additional program? Or will they "pool" your application together, meaning they will consider both of your applications separately per specialization pool at the same time?

Thank you very much in advance!
