Thanks for the info, ritullm.
Did you by any chance ask them whether their decisions would be preceded with email notifications or, like HLS, would only be announced by postal letters?

Do you know if Stanford require personal interviews as part of the admissions process (LL.M. Program) ?
With best wishes,

I heard that last year they interviewed shortlisted candidates for the IP LL.M, just few days before sending out formal offer. There is some post on this forum also regarding interview by stanford.
good luck!

Well the point as regard to no phone interview- its for all advanced degree courses. and for the preliminary decisions this week( which i still dont know what they actually mean), its for SPILS candidates. hmmm hmmm :-)

Does anyone else find that there are certain people on certain lists on thsi site with whom I really genuinely hope I do not study. It seems to me money and career prospects are the only reason people apply for an LLM. I will be asking which schools certain members are accepted to so that I do not end up at university with them.

Hamish,
Yes, I agree that this board seems obsessed with rankings. However, you need to understand that in order to work for a "mega" firm you need to graduate from a top law school, preferably with a JD degree. You also need to understand that most foreign law school graduates applying for LL.M programs in the US will be spending quite a bit of money, alot more money than they paid for their undergraduate law degree, so they will naturally want to be admitted the the most highly ranked law school possible. That being said, it does seem slightly ridiculous to quibble over the merits of NYU versus Columbia versus Berkely etc. Graduate from a top 10 law school and you should be fine. The LL.M is not a JD and is only a year.

Hi Rajat,
I spoke to their admissions office last week and they said that the order in which decisions would be made are SPILS-LLM Corporate and then LLM Tech with all decisions likely to me made in next 3 weeks...
Sorry, this is all the info that I have....Good Luck!
