Hi all

I'm feeling uneasy cuz I feel that I have several signs of being rejected and I'd like to hear what you guys think.

first and most important of all, my top choice Harvard has not informed me of the date of the decision as many other people have already received a email notice. is this bad news?? does it mean that i am not even being considered on the waiting list so they didn't even bother to mail me?

second of all people are already receiving letters from cornell but my status is still on applied and not complete. is this a problem????

what do you all think??

for the first one, I am in the same situation and I thought the same at first...however, look to the bright side...they may give you admission this week rather than deferring it to the next week...another possible assumption is...they may have sent the email deferring notice date to such applicants from certain regions in the world, for whom they found it difficult to decide until the next week...anyway...there is no way at this point other than just waiting for the result~~Good luck to all~~

Really, it could be any reason as to why some received it and others not.

you have a point! they never sent me the deferral notice so maybe i should call them and ask for my result since that was what they said that i could do in their last email sent to me. what do you think?

I will call them tomorrow. I have to as I'm driven nuts by the pressing deadlines of other schools.

interesting theories, except for the fact that all their emails clearly state, "No early admissions decisions will be made and all Graduate Committee admissions decisions are final." throughout this process, their e-mail communications have been erratic (at best) and there is very little you can hope to glean from them. as hard as it is, you just gotta sit tight and wait.
