Hi guys,
I'm really confused so I hope you'll clarify some things for me about that. I'm finishing law school in Russia this summer and thinking about contunuing my education in USA.
First I was recommended to do LLM which only takes 1 year but I was told that I have pretty much about 5-10% of getting a job after because generally USA law firms will more likely hire an american than a russian girl with russian law school dimploma and an LLM diploma which seems fair enough because I can hardly learn much during just 1 year of school, besides the difference between russian and american law systems is HUGE.
So the question is: should I REALLY take LLM if I want to stay to work in USA after or it's better to spend more money for JD but have more guarantees of being employed after? And if yes then: is it worth applying for JD since I have a russian dimploma in law OR will I eventually have to give up both LLM and JD and just start it all over again getting a barchelors degree for 4 years? Also I'm considering Albany Law School - can you say something about it? Is it worh applying to?
Thanks alot:)
Marina
