What happens if my recommender sends my recommendation letter himself to the university WEEKS before I send my application ? Do they keep it somwhere organized ? They don't have my file - so do they know where to tuck it ? Do I need to be really worried ??? thanks.

Nothing to worry about it; the school will make a folder and keep the material to await for your application and remaining material. at best, you may send them an e-mail telling that your application is in the process of being prepared and that the LoRs are expected so that they are a little extra cautious.

I second what nriattorney said. Not need to worry, since this situation will not be uncommon to the admission office - just think of all the TOEFL reports that will arrive at the office well before the admission process has even started.

Don't worry, one of my professors sent my letter of rec to an institution weeks ahead of my application cos I gave him the wrong deadline (silly me!). However, I am not the least bit worried about it, i think graduate admissions are so organised that they will be well used to receiving files in a 'topsy-turvy' way. Good luck in your application.

Thanks so much for the quick reply :) so I guess it's all right. I thought about calling them or sending e-mails, but it's probably all right then...
