hi. does anyone know whether deferring NYU means that you aren't in the running for any scholarships next year? maybe someone brought it up on one of those online chat sessions they had earlier this week?

i'm trying to decide whether i should defer or just re-apply next year. nyu is my first choice, but i don't want to forego the possibility of getting money next year.

Which, to be frank, is a policy that makes no sense - particularly if you have sound reasons for deferring.

But did you get a scholarship this year? If you didn't get one this year, what makes you think that you would get one next year if you reapply?

no, i didn't get a scholarship this year from nyu. i have no special reason to think i would get a scholarship next year either. but i plan to do some work this summer / next year that might help my chances at a scholarship. what can i say, i'm an optimist. :-)
