postponing the llm

GIGI26

Hi all!
I was admitted to few llm programs, but without sufficient financial aid. I am thinking about postponing my enrollment to next year. Can I apply again next year, or should I write something to the universities that I was admitted to?

Thanx guys!

I would suggest asking the universities to see if you can defer your enrollment. I am sure some will. You might mention that due to the strength of the US dollar that you don't have as much money as you originally anticipated (if there is this issue with your currency). Who knows, maybe they will give you a scholarship or increase one you have.

It would be unfortunate if you have to apply again next year and spend all the money for the application fees. In addition their might be stronger competition and you might not get into the same schools you did this year.

thank you for the answer.

The thing is - What if they will say NO? Will I be able to apply again?

Typically nothing will prevent you from applying again. Many schools ask if you have ever applied before. If you do apply again, maybe make a note in your personal statement the next time.

Hopefully they won't say no. There is an American saying about "a bird in the hand is worth more than 2 in the bush". In other words, it is better to take what you have now than to risk it on something in the future that you may never received even if it seems it might be much better.
