Ok so I am applying to UofM and they want a PS. Thats their description of the PS requirements:
Personal statement Use a separate sheet of paper to respond to the following:
a. Tell us why you are seeking to obtain an LL.M. In particular, why are you applying to the University of Minnesota?
b. List and describe any extracurricular or community activities in which you have been involved and the extent of your involvement.
c. Indicate and explain any other fact or circumstance that might warrant special consideration.
Now my questions:
1.) How long is this PS supposed to be? They wrote nowhere about a word or page limit.
2.) Am I supposed to answer to this questions seperatly or just put in one consistent text ?
I would realllllyyyy appreciate your help and suggestions!!!
THANKS A LOT!

Hi MAP2009,
I had the same question regarding the length and emailed the admissions office about it. Here is their reply, hope it helps:
Dear Mr.(...),
Thank you for your interest in the University of Michigan Law School.
We do not have a word limit for the essays generally speaking, though, roughly five pages for the two together seems to work well for most applicants.
with best regards,

Thank you so much! Yeah I think I am gonna have 4 - 5 pages either.
But I still have no idea if I am supposed to put in one consistent text or just adress those three questions explictly... what would you do?
I guess I am gonna have to write to the admissions office ... :(

Hey map2009,
I think I might have mislead you with my answer. You wrote UofM, which I attribute to University of Michigan due to having stayed there for two years. However, it looks like you meant University of Minnesota - I of course don't know whether you they have a word limit. I apologize if I misread your question.

I'm already taking the LLM Program at the UofM
1) I think 1,500 words will be ok.
2) Put all the information together into a consistent personal statement answering a, b and c.
I hope this will help you.

It's a great Law School. Professors, staff and facilities are available always for students. Even when the exams are difficult, you will be ok. if you read for EVERY class. Have you already admitted? Send to me your e-mail if you need more information.
I will be more than happy to give you more details about UofM.
