According to earlier threads, January 22 was the first day that (early) Penn admission decisions were communicated to applicants last year. Well, today is 22 January.
This thread is primarily to keep each other posted on the progress of our Penn applications. Anyone heard anything?

Well, hopefully it will come out today, although I'd be expecting the decisions to be announced on Feb 8th.

The deadlines are:

December 1 for LL.M. and LL.C.M. applications submitted for Early Notification (response by February 1).
But it used to say February 8...

my understanding from their website is that February 1st is the deadline to submit if you are applying for regular cycle and not the deadline for notification for early cycle. Their website says February 8 for early notification but last year they sent out mails on January 22nd.

Well, it's written "response by February 1"... It used to be written "response by February 8" on the same page.

There is conflicting information in their website. First they say:
"Candidates who submit completed applications online prior to the December 1 "Early Notification" deadline, and who ensure that the Law School receives all supporting documents by the same date, will receive a response by February 8. "
Then, they go with :
"December 1 for LL.M. and LL.C.M. applications submitted for Early Notification (response by February 1)."
Guess we will have to wait and see. :)

Hey everyone! I don't expect to hear from them till the 8th of Feb. I think with the sheer volume of applications this year, they will take thier time sending out responses. fingers crossed!
Posted Jan 25, 2010 04:51
Does anyone know whether they will send the decision via post or email?? Does that mean that the post should arrive by 8th Feb?? Or that they will send out the result by 8th Feb?
Cheers

Don't worry: we'll very likely receive all the decisions the same day, by Feb 8.

Well guys, just received an e-mail from UPenn. I didn't get in, but it serves as a notice that they have started sending out decisions. :)

I guess everyone will receive an email today.
I was deferred, that sucks a little...
"Dear
Thank you for applying to Penn Law's LLM program as part of the Early Notification pool.
After careful consideration, the International Programs Committee has now made final determinations -- "admit" or "reject" -- with regard to a large percentage of candidates from around the world.
We have, however, received an enormous number of applications from an unprecedented number of countries. Those applications reflect a tremendous breadth of qualifications and talents. The process of selection has been, accordingly, very difficult.
Consequently, the Committee felt in a number of instances that it could not take definitive action on a candidate's qualifications without reference to the general applicant pool. Your application was included in this group.
The Committee will now continue to hold your completed file while it undertakes its review of the general application pool. We anticipate taking action on all remaining applications -- "admit", "reject", or "wait list" -- before March 1.
Please be assured that we understand the stress of continued uncertainty and that we will do our best to expedite the process as much as possible. If you wish to withdraw your name from further consideration, and we hope you do not, please visit us at the web address below:
www.law.upenn.edu/cf/adms/gradcontactus/ - Subject: Applicant - Withdraw Application
Best wishes."
